Congratulations to District 1's Goffstown Junior Baseball as it moves on to play in the New England Regional in Bristol, CT, home of Little League's East Region headquarters. Goffstown defeated Concord Little League 14-4 in the third game of the best of three series and was crowned New Hampshire Little League State Champion for the second consecutive. Best of luck to our NH representatives in Bristol!
North Manchester Hooksett Little League bested District 1's Bedford Little League in two consecutive games (5-4, 4-0) to win the NH Little League 8/9/10 State Championship. This is the first state title for NMHLL as they now prepare to open up the 8/9/10 Eastern Regional Tournament in Cranston, RI on August 3. Congratulations to the league and good luck to everyone in the program!
In majors play, Goffstown Junior Baseball took the first game on July 26 by solidly defeating Concord Little League by a score of 12-2. On Saturday, July 28, Concord took a 4-0 lead into the bottom of the fourth in Game 2 when the skies over Hooksett's Donati Memorial Field opened up and deluged the field with rain. After a 15 minute delay and worsening conditions, the game was relocated to Reese Field, another of NMHLL's fields located in Manchester, where no rain had fallen. Play resumed and Concord held for a 4-2 win. The third and final game to decide who goes to Bristol, CT for the New England Regional Tournament is scheduled for Sunday, July 29, at 1:00 at Donati Memorial Field in Hooksett.
