Earth Hackathon 2016

The Google Earth Outreach team and National Geographic Society are hosting an Educator Hackathon over December 9-11, 2016 at the Google Chicago, IL office. This 3-day collaborative event will include both Google Certified Educators and members of the National Geographic Educator Community. We want to teach students geospatial thinking skills within real-world contexts, to solve real-world problems, and encourage real-world exploration beyond classroom walls in a new way and we need teachers to help drive the effort!

Participants of the Hackathon will be working with Google’s Geo tools, tasked with generating ideas and developing innovative lessons that connect National Geographic content with Google technology. The agenda will be comprised of hands-on-training, brain-hack sessions, edtech talk, and fun :)
