Extra Credit

Crazy idea - read the directions first

Directions:

VIDEOS:
This includes movies and tv shows. Some of them are available online, either on Netflix or a specific website. Some of them are available from me in class. Others you will have to find a DVD copy. They may not be available to everyone at all times, which is why it's extra credit and not a regular assignment. Plan ahead  - don't decide the night before it's due that you suddenly want to watch something.

  1. Watch the show. You will need a parent signature confirming that you watched it, so let them know when you will begin and when you finish. Better yet, watch it with them. You might also consider hosting an "Extra Credit Party." Invite friends over to watch something. You can then discuss it together and complete your writeup at the same time.
  2. When you finish, ask your parent to write a quick note confirming that you watched it. If you watched it with a friend at their house, have their parent write the note for you.
  3. Write up: I want two parts. The first is your summary of what you saw in your own words. This should be a good sized paragraph for each hour of video. The second part is your reaction. What did you think? What did you learn?  You can include a review (whether you liked it or not), but it must include more than that. Be honest with your assessment. Don't just write what you think I want to read.
  4. Turn it in by the due date. NO LATE EXTRA CREDIT WILL BE ACCEPTED.
USB means that you can get a copy from me in class. Bring in a USB flash drive. I will try to list the size of each file. If it will not play on your computer, you might need to download a different video player or try another computer. I recommend VLC player. You should be able to transfer the files to most phones, most tablets, or XBox.

Other: Read the directions as listed to the right or in class.
