God and Science from Facebook

Francis S. Collins, a scientist famous worldwide as Head of the Human Genome Project, has demonstrated that scientific brilliance is no obstacle to the abandonment of atheism. Quite the opposite. His example encourages us to encourage others to resolve their estrangement from the creator God who loved the inheritors of a cosmic speck of dust so much He entered into it as vulnerable flesh knowing and accepting the excruciating pain commensurate with our needs for forgiving grace.

Scientism discounts that which scientific method does not prove, yet, but the community of scientists cannot escape their function of describing, blindly or not, the elephant that is God's creation.

It taxes the imagination how one God can individually love each of seven billion people, simultaneously caring about the details and spiritual journey of each life. We pray in faith that He does.

God created our existence with the five senses to prove our existence is proof of His.

God breathed the universe, material and cognitive, into existence, a miracle that proves He transcends our abilities to understand or imagine anything else. Our prayerful faith is congruent with His proven transcendence.

Knowledge of God’s existence has added to my prior faith and belief, but it was faith and Facebook that led me to seek entry to a closed group promising scientific proof of God. So far that faith in this "proof" is more tested than confirmed.

Contrary to a casual reading of the bible that conveys the notion most of us are going to hell in a hand basket—narrow gate and all that—this verse challenges me to wonder why the creator of time, space, matter, and the created with their free will, would do all that with expectation or willingness to be so thwarted. Omniscient enough to know the perils of the gift of free will, yet He was NOT WILLING THAT ANY SHOULD PERISH.

It is my conviction that God wants us to prove Him to ourselves using the bent to learning He has given us, science. I define scientific proof of God as an evidence driven consensus of mainstream science too compelling to be unknown or resisted by the rest us, creating a lot of repenting and a broader consensus that God is God, and in Jesus Christ, He is our forgiver and deliverer. The lost would be a minority at most, not a majority.

Aforementioned test of my faith: so many posts here by flat- and young earthers and “scientific” outliers determined to load indiscriminately every word of ancient text onto a pedestal of timeless historic and scientific infallibility. Too much here does not inspire any expectation of consensus. Notions like this videoed 6ooo year universe may survive but only as a subtraction from any scientific consensus.

But I have faith that in God’s perfect timing His will will be done here or somewhere.

I am grateful to you, and praise God, that my minority view is warmly, if inexplicably, welcomed here.

I have a dream, a dream that this site will deliver on the promise of its title: scientific proof of God.

I dream that a consensus of the scientific community will prove God to the world at large, not just a privileged few. 

Mr Ham, and so many other contributors in the same vein, are the measure of how far we are from that nirvana. Without some kind of road to Damascus insight, neither he nor any of them will ever be the pied piper of such a scientific consensus. There will never be a scientific consensus for using scientific jargon to shoehorn science into the predetermined result that ancient scribes should be the frozen glacier of all the truth and knowledge possible or necessary. Creator God, praise Him, did not make them or us that way.

I know, with His gift of evidence to myself, that God blessed the biblical writers with divine truths meant for us and eternity without any intent that their human understanding of His creative magnificence should be the chosen frozen.

The universe was created by God’s word. That moment was the beginning of atheism’s slow foreordained end. Existent good, material reality from the farthest star to the nearest microbe, cognition, and the pleasure of multiplying inspired in the created more God thoughts than denials conceivable in God's gift of free will. God’s creation was the progenitor of the most credible religions, man’s thirst to explain the most inexplicable. How can we exist from prior nothing, or from anything without beginning? That thirst is watered by science’s inexorable discovery of more truth than previously known anywhere on our timeline.

IF God chose to evolve us, that was and is His ultimate power and choice to make, not to be vetoed by His own created and beloved messengers and scribes who were far from any end zone of discoverable knowledge.

Surely His massive creation demonstrates His intense divinely perfect love for his created bearers’ of grateful cognition, investing in them eternal souls to share eternity with Him. The Almighty had the motive and power to transcend His created order in order to rescue and absolve His beloved from the adverse consequences of the free will He gave them. The upside of free will is our ability to respond with ultimate joy and love for our creator.
