keep it simple, travel light, and move from place to place.
The Newton Nomadic Theater is dedicated to producing simply staged, high quality theater in interesting and unconventional theater spaces in and around Newton.  In between theatrical productions the theater also regularly hosts Nomad Story Slams, Moth radio inspired nights of story telling.

One weekend only!  Fri Feb 23 - Sun Feb 25

A behind-the-scenes look at what a director does.

Short scenes from Shakespeare will be enacted multiple different times with wildly different results based on directorial choices. You'll go behind the scenes of the theater for a totally different theater experience

Award winning director and founder of Shakespeare for the Masses Nicole Galland will direct actors Noni Lewis, Steve Vaughan and Abigail Dickson.

One night only!  Thurs, March 1 at the Waban Library

A behind-the-scenes look at play-writing

Staged readings of two plays by local playwrights.

It's About Time, a 10 minute play by Finn Flaherty followed by the featured play, Three Exits by Gino Dilorio - directed by Katherine Howell.    Featuring Linda Goetz, David Anderson and Karin Trachtenberg.

The performances will be followed by talk and Q/A with the playwrights and directors who'll talk about the journey a play makes from the authors mind, to the printed page and then on to the stage.

Throughout the year we present Nomad Story Slams at Gregorian Rugs.  These nights of storytelling are based loosely on the Moth Radio Hours.  Anyone can throw their name in the hat and tell a five minute story on the theme of the night.

The next Nomad Story is not yet scheduled, join our mailing list (below) and we'll let you know as soon as it is.
