keep it simple, travel light, and move from place to place.
The Newton Nomadic Theater is dedicated to producing simply staged, high quality theater in interesting and unconventional theater spaces in and around Newton.  In between theatrical productions the theater also regularly hosts Nomad Story Slams, Moth radio inspired nights of story telling.

Thanks to all who made our Oct-Nov production of God of carnage such as success.

What's Next ?

A Christmas Carol - Plans are underway for a unique Newton Nomadic presentation of a Christmas Carol the weekend of Dec 17,18.  We'll be presenting an abridged version of the Dickens classic at the beautifully restored, historic Allen House in West Newton.

This time, you will be the nomads.  Rather than our theater moving around, for this production the audience will move from room to room around the Allen House, with scenes unfolding in each room.

Every hour on Saturday and Sunday afternoon a performance will begin.  Every hour we'll lead a small audience (approx 15) people through the house and through the show, ending with some hot cider and snacks.

This show will be aimed at and priced for a family audience.

More details soon.

Throughout the year we present Nomad Story Slams at Gregorian Rugs.  These nights of storytelling are based loosely on the Moth Radio Hours.  Anyone can thow their name in the hat and tell a five minute story on the theme of the night.

The next Nomad Story Slam will most likely be scheduled for some time in Jan 2018.  Join our mailing list (below) and we'll let you know as soon as it is scheduled.
