keep it simple, travel light, and move from place to place.
The Newton Nomadic Theater is dedicated to producing simply staged, high quality theater in interesting and unconventional theater spaces in and around Newton.  In between theatrical productions the theater also regularly hosts Nomad Story Slams, Moth radio inspired nights of story telling.

Throughout the year we present Nomad Story Slams at Gregorian Rugs.  These nights of storytelling are based loosely on the Moth Radio Hours.  Anyone can throw their name in the hat and tell a five minute story on the theme of the night.

The next Nomad Story Slam will be on Saturday, Jan 13, 7:30 PM at Gregorian Rugs.  The theme is "the law".

Special guest storyteller John McDonagh (see below) will be joining us to tell one of his outrageous stories.

He's coming back for a big 'thank you" to Newton

Last spring we bumped in to New York cab driver John McDonagh at Dunn Gaherins and heard about his one man show the Cabtivist.  We brought him to Newton for three wonderful sold-out performances.

Since then John has taped an episode with the Daily Show with Trevor Noah and has had a two month, sold out and extended run in New York that was just chosen one of the "Top 10 Off-Broadway Shows of 2017".

He's coming back to thank us all for the Newton audience's early support by donating a single performance of his updated show "Off the Meter" on Sunday, Jan 14, 5 PM at Dunn Gaherins.  All proceeds from the show benefit the Newton Food Pantry.

Sorry, sold out
