As part of a program designed to show how business practices can promote social responsibility, students from Lisa Durocher’s Business Administration class at Green Mountain Technology and Career Center, in Hyde Park, created a program where Menard’s Agway, in Morristown, will make a donation to animal welfare organization, Justice For Dogs, for every bag of dog and cat food sold over a two-week period.

From now until November 25, Menard’s will be donating $2 for every 16 pound or higher bag and $1 for all bags 15 pounds or under.

Students Alyson Cusson, Randi Hall, Makayla Hill and Gwen Kearnns came up with the idea to do something to help animals and were able to put together Menard’s and Justice For Dogs for the promotion. In order to set up the program, they worked out the details of how it would work and made a “pitch” to Michelle Menard, of Menard’s Agway.  Menard’s has worked with Justice For Dogs before, so the two were natural partners for this promotion.

Menard said they were happy to work with the Business Administration students, as it gives the students a chance to learn how to link businesses and non-profits in a real world setting.
