FIRST PITCH DINNER – The Pre-Tournament dinner is set for FEBRUARY 6th @ 6PM.  The Elks Lodge is located at 3456 Via Oporto -Newport Beach 92663.  The Elks will be serving their tradition steak dinner with coffee, soda or water and there will be a no-host Bar available.  PLEASE, I need to give the Elks a head count by February 1st . . . email me or call (714-458-9321) me with your RSVP.  This evening has NO FORMAL AGENDA . . . it’s just a great night to catch up with old friends and meet those you may be playing in a few weeks!  You are welcome to bring an assistant or two just send my your RSVP.

WEB PAGE INFORMATION Please let me know of any adjustments in game times and if you play at an alternate site, I need to make sure I post on the website.  I’ve loaded all games into Arbitersports for the Umpires . . . PLEASE, I PREFER NOT TO MAKE ANY CHANGES AT THIS POINT UNLESS I REALLY SCREWED UP!

TOURNAMENT GUIDELINES:

The first 3 games are assigned; match-up will be based upon game results.  Every attempt to keep teams from the same leagues from playing each other will be done except for the Championship portion of the bracket.

Weather permitting each team will play 5 games in the tournament

Match ups will be determined by:

  •          Best record
  •          If two teams are tied then the winner will be decided from head to head competition.
  •          If two, three, or more teams are tied then the winner will be the team that gives up the fewest runs. (PLEASE REMEMBER THIS!)
  •          If ties still exist, then run deferential between runs allowed and runs score will be used.

The team that is playing at their home field is the home team.

Each team shall provide 3 game balls to the umpires at each game.

Each team is responsible for keeping an accurate scorebook and communicating the score after each game to Vince Brown @ 714-458-9321.

Games are 7 innings.  Tournament has NO MERCY RULE unless coaches mutually agree before the start of the game.

I do all the scheduling of Umpires, please make sure you communicate with me any changes or adjustments in your schedule.  Schools outside of Orange County, your area assigners will have received a schedule from the OC assigner or me, HOWEVER . . . PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK AND MAKE SURE YOUR ASSIGNER HAS YOUR HOME GAMES SCHEDULE.
