Guadalajara is known as the city of Mexicanity. It is located in the western-pacific area of Mexico. Guadalajara is the capital of the state of Jalisco, the agricultural giant of Mexico, home of mariachi music, traditional clothing and tequila. It hosts a number of large-scale cultural events; it was called the American Capital of Culture for 2005. 
The city's economy is based on services and industry, especially information technology.

The IX International symposium on new ornamental crops will be held at the Club de Industriales de Jalisco which is located in a privileged central zone of the city, surrounded by touristic sights and hotels.
