Scholarship slots for Jazz Camp 2017 June 10-15, 2017 are now open. Requirements are: high school, or college musicians interested in learning and playing traditional jazz send a sample of your playing.
Under 18 must be accompanied by a parents or supervisor. Out of town students must cover transportation to New Orleans and pay for their housing at the hotel at the discounted room rate. For other
questions email camp.
It's likely you could check off all of these things while you are here, especially if you add a day to your trip to head out to a swamp tour.

Leslie has taken over the duties of music booker for the music club on Esplanade Ave. Some of our Jazz Camp scholarship students have been performing there as members of the Red Hot Brass band lead by Doyle Cooper. Vocalist Jenna Guidrey has sung with her own band and there. There are future bookings for Jenna too! Vocalist Rebecca Leigh has moved to New Orleans and has been giging around. She too has performed at Buffa's and well as Ellen McCusker who sat in with the guys a number of times!
Jazz Camp registration opened on September 9, and as of September 14, 66 people have registered already! The pianos, trombones, and drums are already full. People can sign up on the waiting list in case a spot opens up due to cancellation. This will be the 5th year for camp!
