UPDATE MARCH 13, 2016:  Although Rootsweb seems to have many things back online, not everything is, nor is everything working property yet.  Hopefully, everything will return to normal soon.  Please feel free to email me if you have any information or questions.

FEBRUARY 2016:  At the present time, the NJGenWeb page was previously on a Rootsweb server.  Rootsweb's servers are currently down, so I have placed the state page online here on a Google site for the time being.  I don't know if this will stay the current page or not.  If you are unable to access the NJ state page, please always go to the USGenWeb National Site at www.usgenweb.org and access the state pages from there.  Also numerous counties are on the same Rootsweb servers and unless and until the volunteer moves the site, they may remain offline.  Please be patient as we await the results of Rootsweb's update.  You can also access Rootsweb at www.ancestry.rootsweb.com.

The New Jersey USGenWeb Project
(also known as "NJGenWeb") is an internet-based project, created and maintained by volunteers, and dedicated to offering free New Jersey genealogy (and sometimes history) resources to the general public.
The NJGenWeb State Coordinator is Denise Wells. Our Assistant State Coordinators are Brianne Kelly-Bly and Linda K. Lewis.

If you are interested in volunteering for this project, please review our "Volunteer" page and contact us! There are many ways to participate. If you have an idea or comment please let us know.

The Hunterdon Republican Newspaper [1856 to 1953] is now being put up to the Internet for use by Genealogists, Historians, and the Public in General.  Items containing names of people who lived or had a link to Hunterdon County, N.J., are abstracted and indexed. The Project is under development and will take a few years for completion.

We are a proud participant in

--  If you know the county in New Jersey where you wish to research, then the "Counties" section may be a good starting place.

--   If you do
not know the county of origin (of the individuals or events you are researching), then the "Research" section should be your starting point.
