People often ask me what makes New Hope distinctive and why I chose to partner with New Hope instead of a mainline church.
I usually smile as I answer because it is such an easy question! I am at New Hope because of the people and their dedication to Christ. I love this congregation because it is varied in demographics and opinions but always values thoughtful discussion. In all honesty, I have never seen a church that embodied the concept of "church family" better than New Hope. From ages eighty to eight, men and women gather each week to worship, study, and fellowship with one another. There could be no more rewarding call than being in the service of this congregation.
We strive to be "salt and light" through our various service and mission projects. Most are small in scale as appropriate to our size, but the generosity of our congregation is impressive.
We value creativity in our presentation of biblical truths and concepts, but we do not feel the need to change the values that God has given us. We seek to accurately interpret the original meaning of the biblical text and apply it to our modern, and often chaotic, life.
Our beliefs are those held by Christians for the last two millennia and our worship is comfortable but respectful.
God has granted me many privileges. He has given me a husband who seeks to serve the Lord, three children who are rapidly growing physically, intellectually and spiritually, and a wonderful group of people who live in fellowship with one another and with Christ. Together, we call ourselves New Hope Church. When I think of these blessings I feel humble and know that God has truly been gracious to me. I gratefully seek to serve him every day and to help equip our members to do the same.
“By the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect.” (1 Cor. 15:10)
