First Day of School-Beginning Inquiry-Based
Oreos are “milk’s favorite cookie” and this inquiry investigation lab is bound to be a favorite among your students. This investigation may answer one of the most important questions for consumers, are we really getting the most “bang for our buck” with Double Stuff Oreos? This lab allows you to truly investigate the answers to that question in a variety of ways.

Inquiry can be used in multiple ways. Use this activity to not only teach students about hormones in the reproductive cycles, but also using and Interpreting graphs and data. When done, students create an artifact to help them remove the estrous cycle.

In this hands-on workshop, you will explore the FFA brand guidelines, master basic design tools in Canva, and practice creating a professional event promotion post.

About the speaker: Jon is Program Coordinator of the Stamford Regional Agriscience and Technology Education Center in Stamford, Connecticut. He has extensive experience as a professional content creator, which all started from his high school experiences lobbying on behalf of agricultural education and his service in 2017 as State Reporter for CTFFA.

The University of Maine at Augusta (UMA) established its Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) Program in 2016 when Title 14 CFR part 107 took effect. We will explore what people in Maine and across the United States are doing with UAS (drones) and the laws regulating recreational, commercial, and agricultural drone use. We will also cover UMA’s Early College Aviation Program, offered at high schools across Maine, as well as other aviation programs available to students. Time will be set aside for Q&A during this presentation.
