War Memorial

War Memorial                                                Roll of Honour in Church

This site attempts to provide information about the men from the villages of Newbold Pacey and Ashorne who served in the First World War and are commemorated in the church of St George The Martyr, Newbold Pacey.

The War Memorial is in the churchyard and inside the church is a wooden tablet and a framed Roll of Service.

For information about those who died, click in the links in the "Died in WW1" page. For those who served in the War, click on the links in the "Roll of Honour" page.

The Parish magazines for the War years have been researched and these contain 4 Rolls of Honour, one for each year from 1914 to 1917. These show who was serving at that time but there are a number of discrepancies between these lists and those displayed on the church. Where possible, every name found has been researched.
