Shirvon Greene runs for NY club

SHIRVON GREENE OF NEVIS AGREES TO TERMS TO RUN FOR THE CENTRAL PARK TRACK AND FIELD CLUB FOR 2009-2010 SEASON

CENTRAL PARK CLUB IS THE #1 RANKED TRACK CLUB IN NEW YORK. THEY COMPETE AT ALL THE MAJOR MEETS & CLUB  CHAMPIONSHIPS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES, WHILE BEING COVERED BY ESPN SPORTS CHANNEL.

Shirvon-Greene agrees to terms with Central Park Track & Field Club for one year with an option for a 2nd year.
 
The Central Park Track Club was founded in 1972 by Dave Blackstone, who is still a current member. Today, the club has over 400 members from a variety of ethnic backgrounds, of all ages, speeds and resting pulse rates. The club takes its name from the famous Central Park in the borough of Manhattan in New York City. Current headed by Coaches: Ms. Devon Martin, Mr.Tony Ruiz, & Mr. Lesleigh-Hogg.
 
Greene looks to add his explosive middle distance talent to the mix. He will be competing as well as teammates with current and former Olympic Athletes from the United States. In terms of his debut with the team that is TBA. He has been training with them while currently serving as the Grads-Assistant Coach at the Monroe College.
 
It must also be noted that Shirvon-Greene received the 2009 NJCAA –Academic and Distinguish All-American. Both Awards came at the conclusion of his junior athletic career. Greene However has been contacted by several NCAA (4year) colleges to begin Track& Field as well as Cross Country. Two key schools being: Barauch College, New York& Clarks University Atlanta, in which he will do both Track & Basketball in which he also excels in. Shirvon is currently attending the Monroe College in which is pursuing a Master of Science in Criminal Justice. It must be noted that he graduated this past June with his Bachelors in Accounting & Finance with an impressive GPA of 3.92 as well attaining the Summa Cum-Laude Status.

Greene’s Comments:

I would just like to thank everyone has supported me and I really think that this one of the biggest step towards my goal of qualifying for the London Olympics in 2012. This will enable me to compete against and also train with experienced professionals, which I am eager for. Once again I would like to thank God, my family & friends, the Nevis Community and all my supporters.
