Online Interview for www.nevisaaa.com with Tameka Williams, new 100m St. Kitts/Nevis National Record holder with 11.18s:
Tameka Career Statistics

Was your time of 11.18s surprising, giving you the 8th best time in the world for the 2012 season and an "A" standard for the Olympics? "Actually it wasn't surprising at all. I've been having a pretty good season so far. I knew it was a matter of time for me to run that fast because I went in the race with a lot of confidence."

How has your preparation been for the season? "My preparation for this season (is) mainly focused on speed and over distance work."

What are your plans for the rest of the season? "My plans for the rest of the season is to continue to excel at practice and getting my times down."

What's your major goal for the season? "My major goal for this season is to run 10.9s in the 100 meter and 22.2s in the 200 meters."

Do you think a 4x100m Female team is possible for the Olympics? "I really think it's possible for the females to have a 4x100m relay if we all could come together as a unit to make that happen."

Any words of encouragement for the locally based Junior athletes? "Words of encouragement would be for the Junior athletes to work hard in everything that they want to accomplish in life. In order to succeed in track they have to believe in themselves and their coaches program. Also, Education is very important and it's the key to success."

Thanks to Tameka and wishing her continued success !!
