5th March 2011: Constantia Liburd ran in the Inter Counties Cross Country today, Saturday 5th March 2011 in Birmingham. In her race there was 41 counties. Constanita was one of 7 girls that ran for Northants. She placed 172 out of more than 300 competitors. Out of the Northants team, Constantia placed 1st. The distance was 3,000m and she did it in 13 min 01 sec - with was a good time considering that the 1st place ran a time of 11 min 07 sec. For the long jump, she is ranked 179 in the UK for Under 13.
19 March 2010: On 19th of March 2010, Constantia took part in the Northampton Primary School Cross Country run and she placed 1st. About 23 schools took part with over 100 children in the race. Constantia won last year and it is likely that an athlete has never won two year in a row.
On 7th March, Constantia competed in the last of the Midlands Cross Country runs and placed 6th in that race .... a good result as she went to France for a week and came back on the Friday and ran the Sunday. Overall from the 5 races she came 3rd.

LATEST NEWS - 9 Jan 2010:
Constantia Liburd placed 1st at the Northamptonshire Athletic Association Cross Country Championships at Wicksteed Park, Kettering, held on Saturday 9th January 2010. She ran in a time of 8 mins and 49 sec over the 2,000m distance. We congratulate her on her continued success. Her next race is next Saturday in Northampton and Sunday in Nuneaton.

Constantia Liburd placed first in the Charity Cup Cross Country run held at the Wicksteed Park Ketteringa held today 12th December.
She placed 5th in her 2nd cross country run held on 8th November held at Aldersley Leisure Village, West Midlands.
Her first run was on 4th October where she placed 15th in the cross country run held at Pype Hayes Park, Sutton, Coldfield.
She will compete in her next cross country run on 9th January at Wicksteed Park Kettering and on the 16th January at Northampton. She will also compete on 17th January as part of the West Midland Young Athletes Cross-Country league.
The Nevis Amateur Athletic Association congratulates Constantia Liburd on her recent performances and wishes her continued success in her cross country events.

Junior XC Team extend lead at the top
The young athletes full of high spirits & determination went into the race at Wolverhampton, leading a field of 20 regional clubs and did not disappoint, extending their overall lead over the chasing pack with a mixture of outstanding individual & team performances.
The U/11 Girls maintained their position at Number 1 with another set of fine performances, Phoebe Ellis put a classy performance in to finish 1st again, Constantia Liburd proved her strength to finish in 5th place, Emily Cutler was fantastic in her 1st Cross Country race for the club to finish 11th, just beating the improving Lily Carmichael into 12th place while Georgia Wright romped home in 15th place to ensure that the 1st 5 Club runners through were within the top 20 !!!
She was presented with medals for the Chairman's Cup (an U-11, U-13 competition similar to the Gulf Insurance Primary School Championships) at the Rugby and Northampton Athletic Club Presentation night on the 25th September 2009. She placed 2nd in the 800m and 1st in the cricket ball.
She also received medals and awards for the Rugby & Northampton Junior Club Championships that was recently held over two days (1 - 2 September 2009). She placed 1st in the 600m, 2nd in the shot put and 3rd in the 150m. Constantia placed 2nd overall in the meet. She also got the Coaches Award for 2009.
Constantia Liburd attended the Gingerland Primary School in Gingerland, Nevis from 2004 - 2007 before travelling to England. She now attends the Stimpson Avenue Primary School in Northampton. She is currently 10 years old and has been actively participating with the club for the past 5 months with excellent results.

Young Athletes Win Chairman's Cup
U11 & U13 win cup held by Kettering for 9 years
Rugby & Northampton AC young athletes gave yet another winning performance this season this time at the Kettering Chairman’s cup with a great team performance winning the cup off Kettering who had held it for the past 9 years.
The competition is open to U11 & U13 girls and boys with the club able to enter unlimited athletes with the top two scoring for the team.
With so many committed athletes at this age group this ensured that there were athletes in all events with plenty of eager and fit competitors to show a full strength squad, many athletes in their first competitive performances.
The athletes in the field also got into winning ways and jumping their way to victory was Brittany Wood following her success in the 100m winning the High jump, Thomas Haynes and Tom Cheyne jumping 1st and 2nd in the U11 Boys long jump, Jack Murphy winning the U13 Boys High jump and Milan Clues triumphant in the U11 girls long jump.
The throwers were not going to be outdone and Constantia Liburd showed her versatility by winning the U11 Girls Cricket ball throw and Emily Byrd & Tia Clues 2nd and 3rd in the U13 Girls Javelin.
The climax of the day was the relays with the U11 and U13 girls relay teams both winning and the boys relay teams finished 2nd & 3rd respectively
In addition to these performances there were numerous fine supporting performances from the whole team 47 athletes in total, all thoroughly enjoyed the day with plenty of great support from parents and family.
The final scores were Rugby and Northampton 246 points, Corby 204, Kettering 202, Daventry 89 and Silson 7 points.

The Club has a membership of over 650 athletes, coaches and officials, ranging in age from 8 years old to over 80 years old. There are over 50 active coaches and 40 officials providing the back up to the athletes and helping them to achieve their personal goals, whether that be a local fun run or to compete in London 2012.
