David Battistella, a Canadian filmaker who's here in Florence writing the screenplay of Filippo Brunelleschi's life, based on Ross King's book, "The Dome". David will talk to us about this fascinating project and also share his other activity with us, FOCUSING, a form of meditation/therapy.

What is Focusing?

Focusing is direct access to a bodily knowing. As in ancient times, philosophy now has a practice derived from it.

The term focusing is used to refer to the simple matter of holding a kind of open, non-judging attention to something which is directly experienced but is not yet in words. Focusing can be used to become clear on what one feels or wants.

With training you can find the entry point to your embodied knowledge. After that, you can become able to stay long enough to interact with it. Then you can do many different things when you reach a profound level.

Focusing is supported by a long series of operational research studies conducted first at the University of Chicago and now internationally.
