Luswepo Christian Center

November 2016

Work continues at Luswepo as the Centre Board in Zambia takes up the challenge to start Transformation Ministry and Skills programs in January 2016-17.  Already the Centre, along with the town Centre in Mbala, is being used for outreach, district meetings and training.

  Building A Place for Grace!

November 2010! Power has come, roof is on!

A place for ministering to those whose lives are torn apart by extreme poverty, malaria and HIV-AIDS.

The need to expand ministries at Mbala Christian Leadership Training Centre sent the staff out to seek a place where lives could be ministered to, and leadership trained with the vision to reach the region for Christ.  This need was answered when a Zambian brother in Christ donated a 100 acre parcel of land on the Mpulungu road.  From this, the vision for Luswepo Christian Centre was born!

From this location we can work with both Mpulungu, on Lake Tanganyika, and Mbala.  Mpulungu is a fishing town with over 80,000 people.  Mapalo will serve a an area that has over 300,000 people, most of whom live in extreme poverty.

The new Centre will be located near a village called "Makola" on the only road to Mpulungu.  We have chosen to call the new site Luswepo, which means "light" in the local Lungu and Mambwe languages. Our desire is to be a place where the "Light" can shine for spiritual and physical transformation.

Through the commitment of Nesteam International, and a grant from the Beit Trust of London, Mbala Christian Leadership Training Centre began construction at the Makola village site.  The community surrounding the area have been active participants in the construction with the local village headman, Ba Simfukwe, sitting under the mango tree every day, encouraging on the workers.  He knows that this place will help his people mend their broken lives, and give hope to thousands for a future they can be proud of.
