Ner Tamid Egal Minyan

The Ner Tamid Egal Minyan is a self-run organization, formed in July 2007 by the merger of the Egalitarian Minyan of Rogers Park with Ner Tamid - Ezra Habonim Congregation. Our Minyan is run by its members for the benefit of its members. We are an “egalitarian” minyan with men and women participating equally in our services, and we have a non-hierarchical structure. We are affiliated with the Conservative movement, but we are an independent group with our own structure and agenda.

Kristallnacht Program

posted Oct 29, 2015, 7:39 PM by Ner Tamid Egal Minyan   [ updated Oct 29, 2015, 7:40 PM ]

Our annual program to remember Kristallnacht will be held at our shul, NTEHEM, 7311 N Western, Chicago, on Tuesday November 10 at 7:30p.

The program, is a play, "Chiune Sugihara: Unsung hero of the Holocaust” produced by Genesis Theatricals. The production features Dwight Sora as Chiune Sugihara, in a 45 minute performance, based on the work by Phillip Pinkus.

Sugihara, serving as a diplomat in Kovno, along with his wife gave visas that saved 6,000 from the Nazis.  His reward from his own government was forced resignation from the civil service as he had defied orders. 40,000 are alive today because of Sugihara.

For more details about the man and the play,  see

There is no charge for this event, although we may ask for donations to a yet to be determined charity. Please RSVP to Scott Adams at

Please feel free to spread the word to others of this event. Once we have met our capacity limit, reservations will be put on a waiting list.
