Northeast STEM Consortium involving Perquimans County Schools and Edenton-Chowan Schools, in partnership with College of The Albemarle and with funding from the Golden Leaf Foundation, plan to implement a STEM initiative that integrates a regional career focus.

The plan includes professional development for math and science teachers in inquiry-based learning, supporting technologies, and STEM careers. In addition, leadership development for administrators, lead teachers, and support staff including counselors will be presented.  Collaboration will span elementary, middle, high, and post-secondary schools and the business community in addition to curriculum alignment for math readiness.  Access to resources to improve rigor and motivation of students, teachers, and  community.  Students will be  encouraged to  pursue the STEM careers.
