The 2013 Charles Fleming Award for Environmental Achievement

This was awarded to Mike Joy of Massey University, Palmerston North, in recognition of the key contribution he has made to the sustainable management and protection of New Zealand's freshwater resources. Dr Joy undertook a public lecture tour and Nelson was included in the itinerary (see below).
