For the 13 April workday, I have looked around the lodge (inside and out) and have made the following list of items that need to be addressed on the 13th.  --Jim Moore 
1. Remove weeds in the mulched area in front of lodge, along the retaining wall, and in the brick pavers between the side entrance and gazebo.
2. Remove bird nests in the two front porch light fixtures. 
3. Realign legs on the "Purvis" marble bench. 
4. Reinstall drain pipe to downspout on left front of lodge. 
5. Mulch in front landscape areas. 
6. Repair downspout at right column of gazebo. 
7. Clean air filters in units in attic. 
8. Clean range top and grill top. 
9. Reinstall caulking on front left fascia. (will need a ladder)

Downtown Kennesaw is host to the annual Big Shanty Festival on April 13 and 14, 2018. The festival combines the best of the rich heritage of Kennesaw and the Civil War era with today’s fun filled activities. Over 70,000 attendees will enjoy the more than 250 booths with arts & crafts, food vendors, merchants, and live entertainment.

This year’s event offers great entertainment on two stages and a variety of foods to please everyone’s palate. The Kennesaw Big Shanty Festival kicks off with a parade on Saturday at 9:30 am. The parade features floats, high school bands, marchers, and over 1,000 youngsters representing every sport association in the area. The Parade will start at Adams Park and continue down Main Street through downtown Kennesaw.

The largest Shrine Circus and Fair in North America is back for its 77th year! Packed with more excitement than ever. The Yaarab Shrine has proudly partnered with Royal Hanneford Circus to provide circus-goers with some of the best entertainment under the Big Top.

Ringmaster Tim Tegge hosts an unforgettable array of talent, including the Flying Poemas, featuring teenage sensation, triple somersaulting Adrian Poema JR. Also on hand to delight and amaze, the Royal Hanneford Circus Barnyard Follies, with Grumpy’s Pork Chop Review in the center ring, the Shrine Circus Elephants with the Hanneford Dancers, Equine Excellence featuring horses, camels and Zebras all working at liberty, and of course, human Cannonball Brian Miser.

And of course, no Shrine Circus would be complete without the hilarious Shrine Circus Clowns.

Once again you can catch a spectacular firework show on both Saturday nights of the Shrine Circus. You can also see all the FREE ground acts including Cycle Circus Live, Lew-E’s Comedy Circus, and Cowboy Woody/Treeman roaming the grounds daily.

Wade Shows always provide fun affordable family entertainment with 35 rides for all ages. Come be entertained and amazed then fill up on all your favorite carnival foods- corn dogs, funnel cakes and cotton candy, just to name a few.
