Brethren and friends!

Please help us spread the word by forwarding this communication to all of your Masonic contacts.

As you are hopefully aware, St. John's Day (June 24) 2017 marks the 300th anniversary of the formation of the Grand Lodge of England, from whence all modern Speculative Freemasonry and its bodies have their origins.  We will celebrate this milestone in our illustrious history with a grand celebration, including parade and festival, to be held in downtown Marietta, exactly 300 years to the day from the official founding of our great fraternity.  We join Masonic organizations worldwide in this year-long celebration, which includes the festivities planned by our Grand Master on July 22 in Savannah.  We are proud to work closely with the City of Marietta to produce this wonderful affair, which is planned to include a parade from the Marietta Masonic Temple to Glover Park (Marietta Square), Red Cross blood drive, GACHiP event, entertainment, public speakers, concessions, media attention, and information booths about our charities and bodies.  We hope to welcome Governor Roy Barnes as our Grand Marshal and Georgia's Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of State as our special guests, in addition to other community and Masonic dignitaries.  The public is welcome and invited to help us celebrate this momentous occasion in the history of Freemasonry.

We are pleased to announce that the 7th Masonic District will be the official sponsoring body of the Celebration and thank the Master and Officers for their support and participation.  The event webpage is now live (complete with information about the event, parade registration, and contact information; updated often) and we have initiated our presence on social media; links to both may be found below.  Most of the necessary Committees have been assigned and their Chairs are working diligently in their preparatory roles, but we are still in need of volunteers to assist the various Committees and at the event, itself.  If you would like to be a part of our team or can recommend good Brothers to do so, please contact the appropriate Committee Chair as soon as possible at the contact information below:

If you would like to participate in our parade, we welcome all Masonically-oriented Lodges, groups, clubs, and organizations to march with us.  Parade Registration Forms and information may be downloaded by clicking THIS LINK or via the enclosed attachment.  We also welcome you participate at our festival by volunteering and/or representing one of our charities and appendant bodies at one of our Information Booths.  We hope to exhibit each of our beloved charities at this event and be able to raise awareness by offering discussion and printed materials about each; sign up forms for informational emails are encouraged.  Information Booth Registration Forms may be downloaded via the enclosed attachment.  As we have space for eleven (11) Booths, they will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration Forms must be completed and submitted NO LATER than Friday, May 5, 2017.

Our next 300 meeting will be held at Samuel S. Lawrence Lodge (1362 Sandtown Rd, SW, Marietta, 30008) on Wednesday, April 19, beginning at 7:30pm.  We encourage all interested parties to join us.

Thank you for your participation and support.  We look forward to having you and yours be a part of this special event on behalf of Freemasonry worldwide.

B. Rusty Newport
