News from the Needham High School PTC
May 16, 2016

Hello NHS Families!

We have one thing on our minds this week: the All Night Party for the Class of 2016 on graduation night, June 6th. Yes, it is an event only for graduating seniors, but we hope that ALL parents read about it, because this is truly a community effort. This event works because parents of younger students volunteer their time to supervise the grads -- they sure don't want their own parents there! It is a true pay-it-forward opportunity.

Of course we need the help of ALL parents, especially those of seniors as well: in order to make this THE place to be for seniors, the ANP Committee has to make it fun...which takes lots of funds (hee-hee). The PTC, thanks to your donations, is able to support the All Night Party, but our sizable donation doesn't begin to cover the cost. If you are the parent of a senior, are friends with the family of a senior, or just plain care about providing a safe celebration for youth in our town -- see below and donate! Then plan to go to Sudbury Farms on Thursday, May 26 so that they can donate for you too.

All of the details you need are below, along with a reminder about Dr. Schwindin's upcoming retirement celebration.

Class of 2016 Needham High School All Night Party
June 6, 2016 - 10:30pm-5am
At Pollard Middle School

The All Night Party (ANP) was first organized in the late 50's and has been a Needham tradition ever since with over 90% attendance. The ANP is just that -- a wonderful event for our graduates to come together with their classmates and enjoy a safe environment to reminisce and celebrate their graduation. As its name suggests, this event is an all night party for our graduates and our committee's main objective is to keep our students safe.

A DJ hosts the evening, and events and games are featured all night for the kids to enjoy. A big part of the evening is the prize raffle, which occurs every 15 minutes. Past prizes have included gift certificates, dorm refrigerators, event tickets, etc. We also keep the graduates fed all night with the generous support of the Needham Women's Club, Exchange Club, and local businesses.

How You Can Help

Make a Financial Donation
In order to encourage participation, students are charged only $5 for admission to the ANP. The cost of running this party is significant, however, and donations from family and friends of Needham High graduating seniors, local businesses, and of course the NHS PTC are needed to make it happen.
Donations: Click here to make a donation via Paypal:

Or, you can still pay the old fashioned way by making checks payable to NHS-All Night Party and sending them to NHS ANP c/o Stephanie Wallace, 81 Gary Road, Needham, MA 02494. Click here for a donation form.

Donate a Raffle Prize
If you wish to donate gift cards, gift certificates, event tickets, or items to put towards the prize raffles (prizes are raffled off every 15 minutes throughout the night), please contact Jen Maitre at

Shop at Sudbury Farms on Thursday, May 26, 3-7pm
We are very fortunate to receive financial support for this tradition from Sudbury Farms. But we need your participation. It's easy! Simply SHOP AT SUDBURY FARMS (Highland Avenue only) on Thursday, May 26 between 3pm and 7pm and turn in your receipt to the parent volunteers at the end of the registers. Sudbury Farms will donate 5% of your total to the All Night Party. That's it. No extra money! No extra time spent! Tell your friends and neighbors!

Can't shop that day or want to increase your donation? That's easy too. You can PURCHASE SUDBURY FARMS GIFT CARDS. You can buy as many cards as you like in any amount and spend them at a later date. Cards can be used at ANY Sudbury Farms or Roche Bros. Click here for the Sudbury Farm gift card order form.

**Volunteer Your Time** Sudbury Farms
We need a few volunteers for the Sudbury Farms Fundraiser on Thursday, May 26 from 3;00-4:14, 4:15-5:30, or 5:30-7:00.  If you have questions or want to volunteer, email or call Cindy Wolfe at or 781 455-0664. chaperone the All Night Party
Traditionally, parents of juniors are asked to volunteer their time in 2 hours shifts as they "pay it forward" for next year's event for their children. However, we certainly encourage all grade level parents to volunteer.

New this year: sign up is via the link below to SignUpGenius. The slots go for the whole night: 10pm-12am, 12-2am, 2-4am, 4-5am. We could also use volunteers to help with clean-up between 5am-6am. Please consider one of these shifts -- grab a friend and come chaperone. It's a great evening for our seniors and can only be successful with the help of our NHS parents. Click here:
