News from the Needham High School PTC
April 28, 2016
Dear NHS Families,

Our last Principal's Coffee of the year will be next Wednesday, May 4 at 8:00 am.Our guest will be the Chief of Psychiatry at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, who will talk about a new Outreach Program that NHS families will have free access to. This includes care, in-service prevention, professional development, a parent component, and a community partner program.  We will then close out the meeting with topics of interest at NHS and questions for our Principal. Hope you can join us in the Faculty Cafeteria.

In this newsletter we also bring your attention to Balloon-a-Grams, the Vocal Support Concert, Amazon Smiles, and the All Night Party! Please read on for all the details.

And finally, we are in need of a PTC Co-President (or two) for next year.  This very rewarding volunteer position comes with complete access to the current presidents (and a great treasurer), along with an established plan and timeline of all activities that the PTC is involved in. Your first thought is that there is an overwhelming amount of work, but that would not be true.  It is enjoyable, gratifying, and has many perks! Please contact us (soon) for all the details.

Help Needham High A Cappella Singers Raise Money for
Alzheimer's Association!

Needham High School a cappella singers are giving a concert to benefit the Alzheimer's Association, and hope you'll come with friends and family to help them make a difference.

Get your tickets now for the 8th Annual Vocal Support concert on Saturday, May 14 at 7:30pm in the Needham High School auditorium. Sponsored by Needham High School Friends of Music (FOM), the concert features contemporary and classic song favorites performed a cappella by Needham High singing groups - the Subway Dwarves, Treble Rebels and Fermata Nowhere.

FOM and the Needham High singers are thrilled to welcome Sound Off to the stage. An award-winning, semi-professional a cappella group based in Boston, Sound off will perform hits from its diverse repertoire of modern pop with a soulful twist.

Concert proceeds will benefit the Alzheimer's Association, a group dedicated to fighting a disease that affects millions - including Needham High School performers' families.

To purchase tickets for Vocal Support 2016, visit the FOM website at https://sites.google.com/a/nhsfriendsofmusic.org/nhs-friends-of-music/home. Ticket prices range from $10 to $15 (advance); $15 to $18 at door. General admission. Doors open 7pm.
Balloon-a-Grams are back!

All Night Party -- Donations Needed

NHS graduation will be on June 6, and the All Night Party Committee and several community groups are in full swing preparing for this annual fun event for NHS graduates. Seniors will safely party all night at Pollard thanks to the efforts of these dedicated folks!

In order to encourage participation, they charge students only $5 for admission to the ANP. The cost of running this party is significant, however, and donations from family and friends of Needham High graduating seniors, local businesses, and of course the NHS PTC are needed to make it happen.

Donations: Click here to make a donation via Paypal:

Or, you can still pay the old fashioned way by making checks payable to NHS-All Night Party and sending them to NHS ANP c/o Stephanie Wallace, 81 Gary Road, Needham, MA 02494. Click here for a donation form.

Raffle Prizes: they could also use gift cards, gift certificates, event tickets, or other items on interest to graduating seniors; please contact Jen Maitre at  jenmaitre@gmail.com if you'd like to make a contribution.

MORE details about volunteer opportunities and support will be coming soon!
