Hard Times / 1941-1961 (Page 1) Overall Winning Percentage

Nebraska had been a football power from the very start, but  the Huskers never recovered from losing its coach at the start  of WW 2 and lack of players as a result of the war.  From 1941 to 1961 Nebraska  had become one of the worst football programs in the country, with 9 head coaches and a 72-125-4 (.36816) record.  There had only been 3 winning seasons, with 6-2-1 being the best and not a single conference title.  It did produce some all time Husker greats like Tom Novak, Bobby Reynolds, Pat Fisher and others.
