Happy New Year everyone!

Our state has started gathering NEA RA 2017 delegate applications, so I assume your states are, too. I hope to see all of you in Boston this summer so that we can continue where we left off last summer.

To recap some of the resources we put together at the 2016 RA:

NEA Library, Information Literacy, and Technology (LIT) Caucus

LIT Caucus Statement of Purpose (updated 7/7/16)

NEA Vision, Mission, and Values

NEA RA 2016 Contact Form

NEA RA 2016 Google Folder

NEA edCommunity Group

NEA LIT Facebook Page

Co-chairs: Erin Carr (Illinois) & Melissa McDonald (Maryland)

NBI #76 - Sue Doherty

I have added the ASSL/ESSA website resources to our Google Folder, so I think we should start some discussions about our plan of action for Boston. Not only topics of discussion, but also finding time to share teaching and learning resources and networking. A few of the topics we had wanted to discuss are these:

  • Look at poverty issue more carefully and plan for advocacy around that issue
  • Rent Booths at AASL, ALA etc for advocacy and membership recruitment
  • Set up meetings at state and national library events
  • Select officers and regional representatives on our board
  • Fundraisers, memberships, etc.

I look forward to hearing from you and beginning our work in preparation for the 2017 NEA RA!

Melissa
