Edit Text in an Existing Rich Text Module

posted Mar 23, 2016, 10:58 AM by Alison Lanski   [ updated Mar 29, 2017, 8:25 AM ]

This is the most commonly used module;  it can contain text and media.  Below are instructions for text only.  Visit the multimedia help guide to learn how to add images, video, audio, hyperlinks (and more) to your text box.

1) Click on the "Edit" tab at the top of the module.  (The default tab is "View Text", click the tab directly to its right).

2) Compose the text you want to include.  ePortfolio modules do NOT spell check and do NOT auto-save, so for anything longer than a few sentences we recommend writing in another place.  When finished, copy and paste into the box.

If you compose in Microsoft Word, use the "Paste From Word" button.

3) Format your text as desired.    To find out what each icon in the rich text editor controls, see this help page.

4) When finished, click the "Save" button (at the top or bottom of your text box).

5) To view your draft, click back to the "View Text" tab.

6) If you want to make changes, repeat steps 1-4.  To reset your content back to the previous save-point, click into the "Publish" tab and select "Revert Changes"

7) To finalize your work, click the "Publish" tab, and publish changes. You can make changes after publishing by editing and saving again. Always publish when finished.
