A15 (London Road)

The A15 runs from Norman Cross junction on the A1 to Hull, via Yaxley, Peterborough, Deepings,  Bourne, Sleaford, Lincoln and Brigg. It provides access to the villages of Yaxley and (indirectly) Farcet, and was the southern access into Peterborough before the construction of the Parkway dual carriageway around Peterborough.
There have been recent moves to 'de-main' the road by diverting it through the housing estate at Hempsted.
The Great Haddon proposal diverts the A15 into the development, and the original plans were to restrict vehicular access on the A15 into Yaxley, though this has been dropped from the latest plan (Feb 2011).
The road is already congested at peak hours, especially so if there is any disruption on the A1(M) or the Parkways.

Same location, looking north-east towards Yaxley with the A15 (London Road) curving away to the left, and Waterslade Road approaching from the right. This is the point, extreme left, where the proposed Yaxley bypass will leave the existing road and curve into the Great Haddon development, rejoining the A15 at a point between Yaxley and Hampton.
