When the Yakama Nation won back jurisdiction over the southeast flank of Mt. Adams in 1972, they agreed to allow public access to the Bird Creek Meadows area. Today two different routes cross these spectacular, stream-laced wildflower meadows to Hellroaring Viewpoint, a cliff looking up the barrel of a gigantic canyon to Mt. Adams’ glaciers.
