Welcome to the Native American R.A.F.T. Research Project!
You are about to start an exciting new research project on Native Americans. Using a Big 6 Research Process checklist, you will begin researching a tribe from a particular region of the United States. Your notes from the First Peoples videos you watched the last few weeks during library class will help you get started on your assigned region. This project is a R.A.F.T., which stands for Role, Audience, Format and Topic. This unique assignment encourages you to analyze a topic while assuming different roles and addressing different audiences. This R.A.F.T. project allows you, the student, the choice of choosing the topic you want to research! The links on this home page or in the sidebar to the left will help you navigate this site, and provide you with the information, documents and due dates you need to complete your project. Remember to take good notes and keep track of your sources as your research takes you back in time and across the United States in your study of Native Americans.
