Pack 22 Revue

posted Feb 4, 2017, 10:40 AM by Jason Scoppetto

Please remember that we have the annual Pack 22 Revue coming up this Monday, February 6 from 6:30-7:30 in the Lilja Cafeteria.  Come celebrate the Patriots’ big win with an evening of funny skits and Cub Scout fun.  Invite your relatives and friends to see what our Scouts have been working on.  The Great Cubini has promised to be there.  The new membership cards for 2017 are in and they will be available for pick up on the table by the door.  The Bear Den will be doing the flag ceremonies

We will once again be “helping other people” by collecting food donations.  The Natick Service Council and A Place to Turn are both participating in a drive over the next couple of weeks to collect food for needy families whose children will be home alone during February break.  They are looking for easy to prepare items that kids would like and can make for themselves.  Some examples include: easy mac-n-cheese, fruit cups, granola bars, Progresso soups, apple sauce, Pirate’s Booty, microwave popcorn, peanut butter, crackers, etc.  As the host Den for the evening, the Bears will be taking the collected items to one of these fine organizations.

The outing to the Nashoba Valley Ski area for snow tubing is just over a week away.  If you are planning to go, please bring your payment to the meeting on Monday.

On March 18th, our annual Pinewood Derby will be held in the Lilja Cafeteria from 11:30-4:00.  The Tigers will race first and their registration period will be from 11:30-12:00 with the race beginning at 12:15.  We encourage all Scouts to come cheer the Tigers on and participate in the vote for most creative car.  The older scouts will have registration from 12:30-1:00 with racing starting at 1:15.  I have attached the car construction rules for this year.

Also, don’t forget about our Outlaw Race.  This is the time to try out any trick you can think of to make a car go as fast as possible.  The only rules are it must only be powered by gravity and it must fit on the track.  Siblings, friends, parents and others are invited to participate and there will be separate divisions for adults and children.  The Outlaw Race will begin at 2:00.

I hope to see you on Monday, Go Pats!

Yours in Scouting,

Jeff Eckelkamp, Cubmaster
