What: Natural Capital Project Tools for modelling Ecosystem Services

Cost: Information on Registration fees will be available soon. Participants will have the opportunity to register for the one-day event or the full three-day training.
Lunch and snacks on all three days will be included in the cost of the registration. 

Who should attend?

This 3-day training event will include an overview of ecosystem services approaches, followed by two days of technical training on some or all of the Natural Capital Project’s software tools, InVEST, RIOS and OPAL. 

Ideal participants are practitioners and researchers who are looking to:

  • Develop a better understanding of application best practices, limitations and use cases of the Natural Capital tools (InVEST, RIOS and OPAL)
  • Develop a basic understanding of the Natural Capital approach and tools in their work. 
  • Improve their basic or advanced understanding of INVEST, RIOS, or OPAL
  • Develop their capacity as ecosystem modelers
  • Spend more in-depth trouble-shooting time with trainers from the Natural Capital Project

This course is organized jointly by the Natural Capital Project (NatCap), CGIAR Water, Land and Ecosystem Programme (WLE), and the Southern African Programme on Ecosystem Change and Society (SAPECS).
