Alternative Summer Break

Each year, Alternative Summer Break, formerly known as North American Summer Service Team, typically sends University of Michigan student volunteers to different organizations across the continent that deal with issues related to:

  • AIDS/HIV Prevention, Education, and Treatment
  • Domestic Violence
  • Immigration: Border & Refugee Issues
  • Urban Poverty & (Re-) Development
  • Rural Poverty & (Re-) Development
  • Youth & Education
  • Indigenous Peoples
2013 Name Change
North American Summer Service Team (NASST) has undergone a name change to Alternative Summer Break (ASuB) to coordinate with the other organizations sponsored by the Ginsberg Center, Alternative Fall Break and Alternative Spring Break.
