Nanaimo Rowing Club

Our clubhouse is located on Long Lake in Nanaimo, BC, where we are able to train almost year-round.  Our members range in age from 12-75 years old.  We have a strong group of competitive junior rowers and a small but enthusiastic group of masters (that's anyone over 21 years old!).

Bottle Drive - Saturday, January 19 at the Hayes Rd bottle depot, 10 am-3 pm. Bring a loaded car or truck and then head out collecting. Hot dogs provided.

Superstore bagging - thanks to the juniors, parents and masters who helped with bagging at the Real Canadian Superstore. We raised $1363.95! This was after a $161 donation to the store's charity.

2019 NRC Rowing Season - this gives an idea of our club's rowing year.

NRC raffle - thanks to all that supported our raffle. We raised $2835 from ticket sales and had about $325 in donations!

Junior Fall Rowing - season is underway. Newcomers welcome.

Two Nanaimo rowers named to Can Am Mex team - congratulations to Jordan and Megan for being named the Canadian national junior team heading to Mexico City. Canada will compete against Mexico and the USA from July 8-14.

Canadian Secondary School Rowing Association Regatta - congratulations to Matthew and Ian from Nanaimo Christian School for their 4th place finish in the final of the Senior Doubles. It was a really close race! Also, congrats to Colton and Ethan from NDSS for making it to the semi-finals of the same event.

Nanaimo Junior Sprints Regatta - our event was a big success. Thanks to everyone that helped out before and during the event. Check out the video.

Active for Life Expo 2018 - we attended on Saturday, May 12. Gave out about 125 stickers! Hopefully we interested a few people in rowing.

NRC raffle - our raffle was a big success. We raised $3125 and the quad had been purchased. Excellent work, everybody!

Bottle Drive - final amount coming soon - we raised around $900.

Superstore Bagging Fundraiser - we raised $1226! Good work to all the juniors and parents that showed up.

Bottle Drive - we raised a further $1195 for the new quad on Sunday, September 17. Fundraising will continue as we close in on our goal.

Juniors Rowers having a great start to the Spring season
At Duelling Over a Grand at Elk Lake, our Junior C quad placed first and our Junior A boy's double placed second. Full results were posted on Nanaimo News Now.

At the Maple Bay Regatta the club won the boys and overall points total.

Superstore Fundraiser - congratulations to all our juniors and parents. We raised $1134.80, with $133.20 going to the Superstore charity and the balance to NRC.

Boathouse at Long Lake

Together with the Nanaimo Canoe and Kayak Club we have formed the Long Lake Flatwater Training Centre Society  (LLFWTC) so we can jointly raise funds to build a new boathouse for rowing and paddling sports at Loudon Park, Long Lake, Nanaimo, BC.  With the support of the city we are taking a phased approach with the first priority for boat storage.

Adult dryland training -  Monday at 6:00 pm for regular erg and strength training. NEW for this year - Wednesday ERG Spin Class. Sign up for either 6:00 pm or 7:00 pm.

Adult on-water training -  Friday at 2:30 pm, and Sunday at 9:00 am. Also welcome to practices on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday at 6:00 am (may be dryland for now).
