Nam Nguyen received his Bachelor of Science from the Hanoi University of Technology , and Master of Science from the Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville in 2002 and 2008 respectively. From Fall/2009, he started his PhD study at the University of Houston, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. On December 20th, 2013, he received his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Houston.

Starting from Feb, 2014, he started his new career as a Data Analytics Scientist at Schlumberger. His major interests include indoor localization, mobile users behavior learning, Location Based Service (LBS), LTE Direct, and wireless security. He is an expert in machine learning and statistics, especially in nonparametric Bayesian classification techniques, Markov models, Dirichlet Process, and Deep Learning. 

Nam Nguyen has received the 2013 IEEE Wireless Communication and Networking Conference Best Paper Award and the Vietnamese Government Scholarship.
