NAMS is a Colfax Marathon Charity Partner

Are you running one of the Colfax Marathon races this year, or know someone who is? If so, we’re hoping you can help North Arvada Middle School raise funds for a Ninja Warrior course—and it won’t cost you a cent!

This year, North Arvada is one of the Colfax Marathon charity partners. However, to qualify to raise money, we need at least 20 participants to register for one of the Colfax races and to choose North Arvada as your charity partner. Choosing a charity partner is a free part of your registration and will make a world of difference for our students.

Can you help? Here’s how:

If you haven’t registered yet, go to the Colfax Marathon page and click the button to register for the race

Look for the box that says, “Are you considering raising funds or awareness for a charity?”

Click “yes” and then use the drop-down menu under the question to choose “North Arvada Middle School.”  Then finish your registration and click submit.

On race day, we'll have lots of sweet treats to reward you for your help at our North Arvada tent in the runner's village!

If you’re already registered, here’s how you can add North Arvada as your charity.

1. Locate your race registration, which has the subject line, “2019 Colfax Marathon Receipt.”

Step 2: Click the link at the end of the sentence that says, "if you would like to change any of the information below” (shown at the bottom of the picture below).

Step 3: Log in to Simple Race Registration and you should see a screen that shows your name and the race you signed up to run. Click the “edit” icon on the far right.

Step 4: Scroll down until you find the box on the left side that says, “Are you considering raising funds or awareness for a charity?”

Click “yes” and then use the drop-down menu under the question to choose “North Arvada Middle School.”

Then scroll to the bottom of the page and click “submit.”

That’s all you need to do.

Don't want to run but want to help out in another way (or know someone who does)?

We also have a fundraising page here: crowdrise.com/o/en/campaign/north-arvada-middle-school-ptsa.

All funds raised from the Colfax Marathon will be used to purchase Ninja Warrior course equipment.

Why does North Arvada want a Ninja Warrior course?

This year, North Arvada made a decision to have their students put away their phones during the school day, including during lunch and recess. Our students are interacting face to race with each other again, but our students have few options for physical activity: just a small basketball court, a couple of four-square courts, a running track and a large field. A Ninja Warrior playground would offer a unique opportunity to encourage more physical activity with interesting, age-appropriate equipment.
