About Me

I am an Assistant Adjunct Professor in the Department of Statistics & Data Science at UCLA. I work with Prof. Guang Cheng. I love building useful ML models. Specifically, I've been interested in building generative models for sequential data such as time series or video data modalities. The main tool I use and love is the diffusion model. Sometimes, I work on theoretical problems in deep learning.

I obtained my Machine Learning Ph.D. at H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial & Systems Engineering, Georgia Tech, advised by Prof. Xiaoming Huo, and co-advised by Prof. Yajun Mei, in Dec. 2022. I earned a M.Sc. degree in Statistics at Georgia Tech in 2018. Before  Georgia Tech, I received a B.Sc. degree from Korea University in 2015, majoring in Industrial Engineering. In the summer of 2022, I interned at the Amazon Air Science team.
