About Me

I am an Assistant Adjunct Professor in Department of Statistics & Data Science at UCLA. I work with Prof. Guang Cheng. My current research interests lie broadly across topics in high-dimensional statistics, deep learning theory, diffusion model, and time series.

Aside from the research interests, I enjoy learning the science behind each problem and developing practical algorithms that reflect the underlying structure and mechanism. To this end, I do not limit myself to specific techniques but instead look for the right foundation in statistics and optimization and aim develop novel ML methods from them.

I obtained my Machine Learning Ph.D. degree at H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial & Systems Engineering, Georgia Tech, advised by Prof. Xiaoming Huo, and co-advised by Prof. Yajun Mei, in Dec. 2022. I earned a M.Sc. degree in Statistics at Georgia Tech in 2018. Prior to Georgia Tech, I received a B.Sc. degree from Korea University in 2015, majoring in Industrial Engineering. In summer of 2022, I interned at Amazon Air Science team.
