Join us in Creating Courageous and Healing Spaces

September 12th at University of Indianapolis

The Interfaith Coalition for Mental Health presents a four-part series on trauma-informed care, centered around our full-day conference on September 12th at University of Indianapolis

We invite clergy, associates of religious communities, students, service-providers, and community members, to join the discussion as we learn and explore the unique position of faith groups in walking along-side survivors of trauma. Lunch is included.

Conference Facilitator and Keynote Reverend Lynn James, along with local experts and faith leaders, will lead us through these topics with opportunities for learning, discussion, networking, and solution-building:

  • What is Trauma - Current Research
  • Widening the Window of Tolerance
  • Antidotes and Harmful Messages in Everyday LIfe
  • Skills for Soothing Highly Distressed People
  • Opportunities and Risks of Religious Communities
  • What makes a Space Courageous and Healing?
  • Compassion Fatigue and Self-care

Rev. Lynn James is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. She has been a trauma specialist since 1990, focusing on complex PTSD and dissociation. She is a trainer and consultant for EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and DNMS (Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy). She provides compassionate and comprehensive counseling services for couples, individuals, teens, and children.

Reservations can be made for the conference alone or our entire series via the different ticket types. Luncheons have an optional donation, while our conference has an entrance fee.

Please consider supporting this series and reserving your spot at each event by purchasing a $60 'Entire Series' ticket. Arrival and registration is from 7:30 to 8:30am (specific parking address is below).
