Neighborhood Safety and Security

PHNA has been working since January on a security camera plan to supplement surveillance provided by the license plate readers awaiting installation by the Atlanta Police Foundation and the City of Brookhaven.  PHNA cameras will enhance our neighborhood police patrol and safety education efforts.  Total camera costs vary widely based on estimates from different monitoring companies.  Watch for announcements for a neighborhood meeting where we will present and discuss the plan and its cost; we are aiming for early October.

Meanwhile, if you are not yet members please consider joining our subscription police patrol program (https://sites.google.com/site/mypinehills/security-alerts ). Our local  law enforcement leaders and research on crime confirm that the strongest crime prevention is active presence of police patrols.  All of the money from the subscription service goes to Atlanta and Brookhaven officers conducting the patrol so please consider joining and increasing their presence in our neighborhood.  Education efforts through programs like Neighborhood Watch help community members to increase personal and home safety and to alert residents to problems in the neighborhood.  If your street or section of a larger street is considering a watch program, please let us know and we will help you to organize (mypinehillsnh@gmail.com ).
