  • Alert: Brookhaven Character Area Study Meetings August 30 and August 31 The City of Brookhaven Character Area Study is proceeding and it is critically important that Pine Hills has a large turn-out at the next set of meetings scheduled for late August. At these meetings, we will be asked to outline the vision, goals and needs for our neighborhood and planners will use this information to define development goals and zoning for defined areas within the City of Brookhaven.  Pine Hills is within the Roxboro Character Area and directly impacted by the Buford Highway Character Area.  We need to attend both meetings to insure that our voices are heard.   • Alert: Brookhaven Seeks Community Input July 14 and July 19 Neighbors:  The City of Brookhaven is developing a comprehensive plan that will outline Character Areas that will establish the vision, goals and land uses for neighborhoods and is inviting residents to attend community meetings to discuss these areas. This is our chance to express how we want to maintain, preserve and enhance our neighborhood’s character and identity.  Four Kick-off meetings are scheduled for July 14 and 19 in the morning and evenings. The Pine Hills Neighborhood Association was formed in 1960 with the mission of keeping Pine Hills a vibrant community and an oasis in the middle of a bustling city. More than 50 years later, we remain a wonderful community with all of the challenges that come with city life. We have committees of volunteers who interact with city agencies regarding parks, code enforcement, zoning, traffic, public safety and a variety of other issues.
