WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH THE MIND OF CHRIST? You & only you are responsible for your thought-life, we become WHAT we think! As a man thinketh....
The Word of God is filled with admonitions about our mental life.

Luke 10:27 Love the Lord God with all your heart with all your soul with all your strength and with all your mind.

Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.

2 Timothy 1:7 God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind.

Romans 12:2 Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Colossians 3:2 Set your mind on things above not on things on the earth.

First Corinthians 2:16 We have the mind of Christ.

That's all the Scriptures I will list for now, but that should be enough to convince you that the mind is a terrible thing to waste.

Especially the mind of the child of God.

So again I ask you, what you doing with the mind of Christ?

What are you doing with your mental abilities? What are you doing with your reasoning faculties? What are you doing with your thinking processes?

You've probably been encouraged at some point in your life to "don't just sit there do something"! Well, for the purpose of our discussion today, let me turn that around. My encouragement to you right now is, don't just do something, sit there and think. When is the last time you set aside some period in the day to meditate, to think? Let me help you. You must not believe the devil's lies that you cannot control your thoughts. God will not control your thoughts, and the devil cannot control your thoughts. That only leaves you in charge. And your thought life is determined by what you feed upon. What you read, watch on TV, listen to on the radio or IPOD ... Your mind is also fed and reinforced by what it hears you say. Now, the words you speak, whether good or evil, positive or negative were first birthed in your mind. But if you speak them, they are reinforced, reignited and recharged with authority in your life. Take charge of your thoughts by taking charge of the input of your eyegate and eargate. Remember this. Thoughts produce feelings. Feelings arouse desires. Desires cause action. Action creates consequences! The scripture is so true that as a man thinks in his heart, so is he! So change your mind, you change your life! A positive mind, Super charged with God's thoughts and God's Word no longer makes excuses. If only I were married. If only I weren't married. If only I made more money. If only I had more time. If only I had more education. If only I were younger. If only I were smarter. If only. If only. No, a thoughtful mind does not make excuses, but looks for explores and experiments with fresh possibilities! Catch this simple piece of wisdom. There is not one skill or piece of knowledge that I cannot acquire if I'm willing to discipline myself for the energy and sacrifice required. Your motivation, discipline, commitment and perseverance must be decided in the mind and heart. It is a well-established fact that if you will give yourself to one hour a day of disciplined study, five days a week, for five years, you will become an acknowledged expert in that field. How much mental energy are you expanding towards growth and knowledge in any area of your life? What are you doing with the mind of Christ? What are you learning? What books are you reading? And what are you planning on thinking about tomorrow evening? That's right, plan your thought life! Plan extended times of focused meditation and concentrated thinking on the goodness of God, the promises of his Word and ask Him for visions, dreams and direction. And write it down! Write the vision and make it plain. Record the thoughts and seed-ideas and plans God speaks to you as you are thoughtfully focused in His Presence! Here's the final promise from the Word of God. Is. 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you! AMP You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You. And of course, you will be Living the Word

PERSONALITY POWER PLUS!! This teaching has brought many to new victories as we move away from excuses, blaming and transference and take responsibility for allowing the message of the Gospel to totally re-create who we are - in Christ!! That's right, God can change our personality! The problem is, many of us like who we are and are comfortable with attitudes and reactions that are not pleasing to God!
Our challenge is, that we are getting all our information from the WORLD, instead of the WORD!!

I want to show you three potential models of personality.
1) Iceberg Model- Subconscious-90% or more is below the surface and only a portion is visible to the world.
Now here is a revelation!! The word Subconscious is never found in the Bible, and neither is the concept! Now, to be honest, the word electricity is not found in the Bible either, but we can utilize what we have discovered about that power. The trouble with Subconscious is that it is used as an EXCUSE for thoughts , feelings and behavior that is not Godly. Let me give the best definition of subconscious. "The collection of stored memories and feelings that are not in immediate focus in my thoughts." For example, you were not thinking about where you ate Sunday lunch last week until I suggested it. Now, the great news is that Christ can heal our damaged memories, our hurtful past, so that grace and redemption is pulled out each and every time you access the file of every stored memory!! Just don't believe the devil's lie that you are captive to and have no power over your subconcious!

2) The Johari Window. This is a popular psychological/cognitive tool. This model suggests that we all have four aspects to our personality.
a) There is a part of our personality that is known to us and that we show to others. We call this the obvious. (OPEN)
b) There is a part of our personality that we know but keep hidden from others who. We call these integrity issues.
c) There is a part of our personality that others see while we cannot. We call these blind spots.
d) There is a part of our personality that remains unknown both to ourselves and to others. This part is exposed in a crisis or in times of great blessing. For example, how you would react in a fire or a tragedy. We call this character. But remember, Abraham Lincoln said, the greatest test of a man's character is not how he deals with trouble, but how he deals with power and blessing.

Well, there are two models of personality. But I want to offer a third today. I call this the TRUTH model. Jesus declares, you will know the truth and the truth will make you free. Only the truth can make you free. Ignorance and deception result in bondage and captivity. Personality is shaped by what we believe about ourselves, our history, our surroundings and our God. If you only believe the lies you been told you will continue in deception. If you only believe the lies you've told yourself you will remain in bondage. When you believe the truth of God's Word you'll begin to walk in more and more freedom. The Word says that the Spirit of God, this same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead, the precious Holy Spirit will grow His fruit in us . Every one of these will supercharge our personality. Love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. We must turn our personality over to the changing, delivering power of the Holy spirit's influence. In 30 years of preaching ministry I can tell you that PERSONALITY is one of the greatest excuses for Sin and failure ever concocted by Satan. You've heard it. "I can't help but it's just my personality. It's who I am. Like it or lump it." That is an EXCUSE and we don't have license for that in the scripture. Here's another devilish lie. "Personality cannot be altered. It's genetic, hereditary." Well. of course sin is genetic and hereditary! It started with Adam & Eve, not your mother! But my Bible says that all Sin can be forgiven and deliverance is available. Am I suggesting that a personality can be sinful? Absolutely! If your personality is judgmental, critical, unkind, bitter and jealous, yes your personality is sinful. If your personality is suspicious and paranoid, yes it is sinful. But are you ready for some good news? Sin that is repented of and confessed can be not only deleted from our record but delivered out of our personality and normative reactions. The Bible says in Second Corinthians 5:17 "old things have passed away and all things, all things, ALL THINGS have become new." Ephesians 4:24 says, "Put on the new man which is created according to God in true righteousness and holiness." Listen carefully. Personality is not inherited, it is learned. Negative personality traits can be unlearned. Positive, healthy, personality traits can be adopted, practiced and become habitual. What we're talking about here is the power of the gospel. The gospel means good news because it is the power to change. It is so important to remember that we cannot become what we need to be by remaining what we are. But there is hope. The Bible says the kingdom of God is righteousness peace and joy in the Holy spirit. That sounds like a pleasing personality to me.
You may want to pray a prayer of confession today. Ask God to forgive you for blaming, excuse-making and accepting ungodly behavior, reactions and personality traits that are not God honoring. What is our goal as a disciple? To become every day, more and more like Jesus!
And that is possible, as we surrender our minds, memories and tendencies to the regenerating power of the Cross of Christ, the power of His Indwelling Spirit and the Life that is in his Word! That is Personality Power Plus!!
Myles Holmes

Tomorrow morning, at 4am, a historic gathering is taking place in our nation's capital. Muslims will be gathering for their first ever "prayer meeting" in Washington DC, where there are expected to be up to 50,000  in attendance.  Their theme for this gathering is "Our Time Has Come".  I will be up at that hour praying against the darkness in the Name of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God! Will you join me in intercession?

What will we be praying?
We will be  praying against deception and the spirit of violence and death. Hear me clearly. Not every Muslim is violent and hateful. Not even most! Most Muslims in America and around the world love life, love their families and want peace and security. But do not be deceived, Islam is not a religion of peace. You do not see Southern Baptists or Nazarenes strapping bombs on their chests, flying planes into skyscrapers, or calling for the destruction of Israel and death to America. Furthermore, we must be aware of the Truth.  Yahweh, the God of Jews and Christians and allah are not the same God. Let me quote a leading Jewish scholar, author and commentator , Rabbi Daniel Lapin.
"I laugh sometimes when I encounter people who don’t understand that  whoever those cheerful folks worship,  it ain’t the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob."
allah was  the moon god of Mecca, one of 365 deities Muhammad worshiped before settling on one, allah.  Mohammad had very  minimal instruction in Judaism and Christianity, just enough to totally confuse both history and theology while creating his new religion.

Here is some truth to share with the deceived who insist we are all worshiping the same God. Our Bible states emphatically that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, God in the flesh, and the koran written 600 years after the New Testament, states categorically that the Creator has no son, that allah is not a father. There is absolutely not one shred of evidence of any tiny or remote connection between allah and the True and Living God, the Father of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I have read every word of the koran. It states clearly that this teaching of  "god having a son is a monstrous thing, and those who accept it will be rewarded with hell!"  What does the Bible say ? 1 John 2:23-24  "He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also."
That is a pretty clear and undeniable distinction between the religions. Did you catch that? One book says God has a SOn and you must believe on Him for life and to escape hell. the other book says if you believe God has a son and is a Father you go to hell. How any sane, intelligent  person can suggest we worship the same God is simply astonishing! and it shows the demonic power of present day deception.
Another point to consider.
Muhammed says in the koran, Surah 8:12 "Cast terror into the hearts of the infidels. Strike off their heads, strike off the very tips of their fingers."
In the Bible, Jesus said, LOVE YOUR ENEMIES!
I'll stick with Jesus! The same Jesus who declared, I am the way, the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through me!  And not long after, Jesus died for the sins of the world. God so loved the world, and He still does! Jesus died for Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and atheists. He shed His Blood for the forgiveness of the sins of every human being who will confess Him as their Lord, God and Savior. And He rose again from death to prove He was Who He claimed to be... God in the flesh... and so the spiritual warfare continues.

I am urging Christians around the world and here in America to join us in prayer against the darkness and deception.
Tens of thousands of Muslims are planning to gather in Washington tomorrow morning to pray to a false God for the soul of America, under the theme of OUR TIME HAS COME! I believe millions of believers in Jesus Christ will be praying as well. Join me at 4am if you can, it will be 3am central time for me, tomorrow morning.

 Living the Word

Hey, Beautiful! That's right, I'm talking to you, you're beautiful , you were made in God's image and God doesn't make junk.  God loves you.  Crazy about you.  Can't take his eyes off you.  You are precious in his sight.  Wonderfully made, God says.  For the guys  listening in, get over it,  you are beautiful too.  There is no earthly measurement to calculate your worth in heaven eyes.  You are individual, special, unique.  You're a cut above, outstanding, incredibly important.  You matter.  There is absolutely no one else on the planet precisely like you.  Your anointing can be discovered in that difference.  Begin to investigate what makes you, you.  What makes you laugh,  or cry.  What excites you? What bothers you? And what would you change in the world around you given the chance? You are here on purpose, by design, for a reason.  The only thing that can keep you from that powerful place of potential and destiny that you were created for is your own lack of faith or obedience...  or your excuse making.

No more excuses.  Determine with me that we have moved into a season of no more excuses. Maybe  you have allowed dreams to die, hopes to fade, vision to diminish, callings  to lie dormant, and giftings to remain undeveloped.  And you have a catalog of reasons why.  You have been hurt, wounded and bruised.  You have been disappointed, denied and rejected.  You have been mocked, ridiculed and demeaned.  You dared to dream and they called you a dreamer.  You  believed and they called you a fanatic.  And just by listening, you have given authority to your critics.  You have empowered your dream destroyers.  They maybe the people around you, or they may be the inner voices of defeat and inadequacy. Well, today  I am declaring for you, to you, and into you, that this is your season of no more excuses.  The Bible declares  I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me.  The word promises no weapon formed against you shall prosper.  The word shouts greater is he that is in me then he that is in the world.  If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, a follower of his commands, then it is high time for you to realize your abundant life.  No more excuses.  This world is desperate for your anointing.  Believe God's word.  Take a stand for truth .  The truth  that has set you free  can propel you to greater victories than you've ever known before.  That truth that is found in God's word.  Move  from excuses to expectation.  Exchange your excuses  for excellence. Start truth-talking to yourself. You are reservoir of potential.  You are a storehouse of possibilities.  You are a well of wonders  and a can of can-do.  You are a fountain of feasibility and a vessel of victories.  You are a quiver full of conquests and a mine of miracles.  Start telling yourself the truth,  because only knowing the truth can set you free.  The truth is,  you have the mind of Christ.  The truth is you can start over, you can start today confessing and acting on the word of God.  There is nothing impossible with God and he says there's nothing impossible to one who believes him.  Stop limiting yourself with those defeatist, complaining, negative thoughts and speech habits.  So, you have failed.  Does that mean you should quit?  So, you are discouraged.  Does that mean you are done? So, you've lost your dream.  Does that mean you cannot birth a new vision? So, you have been disappointed.  Does that mean you can't have a new appointment? Life is a series of starting over...  of divine second chances.  Of supernatural sources of strength for new seasons.  The rest of your life can be the best of your life, as you  trust the one who holds the future in the palm of his hand and holds you  close to his heart .  Confess this today.   Said out loud, repeat it 10 times, or more if needed, until you start to feel it and believe it.  "I was created to create, to contribute and to conquer.  I was redeemed to be an overcomer . I'm strong enough for this battle, and I'm big enough for this mountain.  By God's grace, I am a powerhouse of faith. "

And by the grace of God, and through the power of the holy Spirit, no more excuses, I am Living the Word!!

Living the Word

I need to focus on something truly burning in my heart.  I believe many of you are like me, you are grateful for pockets of revival, you're thankful for how God is moving around the world, you are excited with me as I shared earlier today on the program about Reinhard Bonkke's meetings in Africa, but you hunger for more.  You desire greater demonstration of God's power in these last days. You are tired of MAN-Infestation, you want to see New Testament manifestation of God's glory in the 21st century.  Not hype and man-made hysteria, not slick marketing and clever programming but real genuine outpouring of God's Spirit that truly  changes the course of nations and history.  Well,  I believe there is one secret that shouldn't be a secret at all because it's written out in plain language in scripture.  I believe it's clear in scripture that the last days outpouring of the Spirit of God will come to a church and a people of God that have finally learned to walk in purity.  Moral purity.  Sexual integrity.  The time has come to an end when we can tolerate a loose Spirit of immorality in the pulpit or the pew.  I'm not talking about  being judges running around condemning and ready to throw the first stone.  Of course not.  We are saved by Grace and we are kept by Grace, and we'll all be called home one day by Grace and grace alone.  However, I believe God is calling his church back to a purity of heart and practice that is absolutely essential if we are going to see God move supernaturally in these last days. It's time we get sick to our stomach of the constant stream of news of sexual sin in the pulpit, ministers trading in their old wife for a younger model and declaring it's God's will and all kinds of loose living. I honestly believe this is one of God's last day's message to the church.  I've promised the Lord that I will give him the rest of my days to do my part to preach, teach, share, declare and demonstrate the joy and the power of walking in moral integrity with no compromise for the spirit of the world that has entrapped much of the Kingdom today.  I believe immorality and sexual perversion in the church is one of satan's primary tools to rob us of our power to dominate nation's.  Do you want power over the nation's? Then we need to do four things.
1)  Deal with sexual perversion -
2)  Live in personal purity-
3)  Minister deliverance to the struggling-
4)  Minister rescue to the enslaved and oppressed.
More on those 4 points in just a moment.
You can find this word  in Revelation 2: 20-26. Take time to read it. Look at the rebuke,  followed by the prophetic promise of power.  He who overcomes the Spirit of Jezebel-sexual immorality . That includes perversion,  fornication, adultery, abortion, which is the attempt to bury the results of our sexual choices, , lust, pornography, homosexuality .. whoever overcomes, to him, to her, to that church, Jesus  said,  I will give power over the nation's. Wow! What a promise! And what a clue to our lack of power! If the church  intends to dominate nations we must clean up our act.  We must demonstrate loving marriages, satisfying lifetime relationships, purity and  Godly lifestyles.  We must guard our eyes, our thoughts and our relationships to always bring God the glory and protect our families, marriages, churches and communities from the scourge of sexual sin.  If you  have failed God in this area, please understand,  there is healing, grace and mercy and there is a road back. There is an open door! There is restoration.  Don't believe for a minute the lies of the devil that you've gone too far.  Make him pay sorely for what he stolen from you.  Give God the rest of your life to walk and integrity, freedom and purity.  To the rest of the church, stop believing that this is no big deal!  I beg you, let's stop compromising, let's stop excusing sin in ourselves and others, let's stop tolerating the enemy making a mockery of our faith and our pulpits by enticing us to believe that this is a minor issue.  It's not. It's huge!  Nations are its stake.

1)  Deal with sexual perversion -We need a zero tolerance policy!
2)  Live in personal purity- We must stand for holiness and righteousness again.
3)  Minister deliverance to the struggling- Get involved in counselling, intervening, breaking demonic curses. Some sexual bondages  are demonic in origin and nature
4)  Minister rescue to the enslaved and oppressed. Millions around the world are trafficked as sexual slaves. Just as the Church was at the forefront of the fight against slavery generations ago, this is the call for rescue to this generation's believers. Live for something bigger than yourself. Rescue the perishing. Reach out to the prostitutes in your city. There are ministries that will train you. Let's be the light and hope of Christ to the dying world! I can see an army of older women with their arms around young street-girls, saying come home, come home to Jesus! Let me be your Mom, your grandmother! I dare you to see what kind of Holy Spirit fire you can ignite in your community!

Now,  for the good news.  Settle  this issue once and for all and watch God begin to give you power over the nation's.  If you're a businessman, that might mean your business is about to go multinational.  If you're a Minister, preacher, prophet, pastor, evangelist, that might mean God will give you the nations to lay at  his feet.  If you're a prayer warrior,  that might mean  your intercesion will finally begin to shake nations to bow at the feet of Jesus.  Power over the nations.  Authority over entire countries. Sounds like  a pretty good reward for living right,  for keeping on living the word!

Two men were born on this day, 200 years ago, Feb. 12,  in 1809

One man became personally responsible for a hellish , pseudo scientific attempt to dethrone God and published his racist, sexist diatribes to the detriment of millions. His name was Charles Darwin. Read his books and letters and you will find a man convinced and trying to persuade others that men are superior to women, whites are superior to Asians, and Asians are superior to Africans . What he meant by superior is that white europeans had evolved to a higher plane, intellectually, emotionally and physically.  He believed that poor people should not be allowed to marry and have children. He wrote before his marriage that he was wedding somewhat reluctantly, but realistically, he thought that every man should probably have a wife, just as every man should have a black!  He dreamed of a day when the superior races would exterminate the inferior!  At some future period, not very distant as measured by centuries, the civilized races of man will almost certainly exterminate, and replace the savage races throughout the world. At the same time the anthropomorphous apes … will no doubt be exterminated.    Darwin's close friend Professor Adam Sedgwick was one of the people who saw what dangers the theory of evolution would give rise to in the future. He remarked, after reading The Origin of Species, that  "if this book were to find general public acceptance, it would bring with it a brutalization of the human race such as it had never seen before That is precisely what happened. Hitler was a proud Darwinian  evolutionist, and the Holocaust was the result. Millions of lives lost. The Soviet Bloc’s atheist communism was based on Darwinian evolution. Millions of lives lost. Margaret Sanger, the Founder of Planned Parenthood was a Darwinian evolutionist, whose fervent belief in eugenics drove her to try to decrease the black population in the US through abortion, sterilization and birth control. And she succeeded…by millions. Back to Darwin. His defenders would say, come on, he was a product of his time, everybody talked like that. Oh really?  Well,  how does that explain his contemporaries like William Wilberforce and others whose Christian faith and belief in the Creator of Genesis compelled them to fight for life and liberty for all God’s people, to spend their life, resources and energies to end slavery and oppression of their fellow man?

And by the way, what about this theory of evolution, taught as fact in our schools today! Darwin himself admitted the biggest problem he faced was the lack of fossil evidence for transition between species. Where were the signs of transition in the fossil record? Surely there must be somewhere a skeletal remains, fossilized over millions of years showing gradual steps,  changes taking a species from one level to the next. He comforted himself by stating, they will be found, just will take more time and research, more digging.  Well 150 years later, millions of fossils and fossil fragments dug up from underneath deserts, jungles, arctic tundra,, deep in the sides of mountains and beneath dried up riverbeds… How many transitional fossils have been found?   500? 250?  100? 25? How many do you need, really? 10? No! Not one . Not a single shred of evidence in the fossil record has been found to support Darwin’s anti-God, anti-Bible, anti- Creation ideas. Not one!

Now,  I said another man was born on this date back in 1809, 200 years ago today. He would develop into a man of strong faith and character, forged in adversity and trial, a Biblical faith would be formed that would sustain him as he led his nation through its darkest days. Where Darwin mocked the Bible, this man said,  “In regards to this great Book (the Bible), I have but to say it is the best gift God has given to man. All the good the Savior gave to the world was communicated through this Book. But for it we could not know right from wrong. All things most desirable for man's welfare, here and hereafter, are found portrayed in it.”   He said, “Intelligence, patriotism, Christianity, and a firm reliance on Him Who has never yet forsaken this favored land, are still competent to adjust, in the best way, all our present difficulty.”

Fondly do we hope, fervently do we pray, that this mighty scourge of war may speedily pass away. Yet, if God wills that it continue until all the wealth piled by the bondsman's/the slaves two hundred and fifty years of unrequited toil shall be sunk, and until every drop of blood drawn with the lash shall be paid by another drawn with the sword, as was said three thousand years ago, so still it must be said "the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether."  He fought for freedom for all God's children, and began a long battle for the realizatition of that liberty.

And from the Gettysburg Address, listen to the words of a battle-weary but faith-filled  Abraham Lincoln… and contrast his thoughts  with Darwin, who definitely did not believe in liberty or equality of people… in dedicating a burial ground in PA for the war dead, Abraham Lincoln spoke in his Kentucky accent for only 2 or 3 minutes and began with these words. Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth, upon this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

May the memory of Abraham Lincoln live on these 200 years after his birth, and may we forget the other guy and his dangerous  ideas... what was his name?

  Living the Word!

A question today…. What is your system of truth? You are aware, I’m sure, that everybody has a system, a system for almost everything we do, consciously or not, an en-grained normal pattern of procedure for thinking, acting, re-acting or feeling. You really do have a system, a perfectly designed system. Your system is perfectly designed to produce the results you are achieving. If you want different results, you need a different system.
Let’s describe a system this way…
Steps You Stubbornly Take Equaling M

Depending on your system, your habitual pattern of thought and behavior, that momentum could be propelling you  toward excellence or tumbling you toward defeat!

Now, think about those different kinds and qualities of systems.
A False SYSTEM means you will ... Sell Your Soul To Every Myth
A Mediocre SYSTEM means you will ... Starve Your Self Through Every Misfortune
A Great SYSTEM means you will ... Save Your Self Time, Energy & Money
An Excellent SYSTEM means you will ... Spark Yourself Supernaturally Toward an Extraordinary Mission
A Supernatural SYSTEM means you will ... Serve Your Savior Through Excavating M

In other words, with the right thinking, believing ,speaking, and acting system, you become a mountain mover! So, what about your system of thinking regarding God?  Do you know the truth about God?  Do you believe the truth about God? Are you acting on the truth you know about God? Jesus said you will know the truth and the truth will make you free!  So let’s look at some of the fundamental truths of the faith. Now, the fundamentals are incredibly important.

Without the FUNDAMENTALS straight, your Christian life won’t be much fun, and without the fun, you’re just left with da and mental!  Now, digging into the fundamental truths about God, is often called Systematic Theology… go to Bible College and you will spend many glorious months here in a carefully laid out plan of searching out the truth about God and the world revealed in scripture. Systematic Theology includes Christology, Anthropology, Soteriology, Ecclesiology, Eschatology and so much more, but I would suggest to you that many Christians are struggling because we forget the basics, the foundational truths. These basic truths are what I like to call Simple Systematic Theology! Are you ready to be reminded of just a few basic, simple truths that could radically empower your faith life, if we fully embrace them? Here we go!

My Seven Straightforward Steps to Simple Systematic Theology.

1) God is God, and I’m not, and neither are you!

2) God knows a whole lot of stuff that I will never understand and that’s alright!

3) God is God and the devil is not!

4) God, being God, is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent!

5) The devil, not being God, is therefore, not all-powerful, not all knowing and not everywhere at all times.

6) God can do anything but fail!

7) God has given me everything I need for life and Godliness in Christ, through His Word and by His Spirit!

That’s enough simple systematic theology for today. Now since we’ve gone to Bible College for a few minutes, we better take away some homework. So here it is, this is your assignment, until Jesus comes, keep on Living the Word!

 Living the Word!

Think about REWARD with me, and let’s start with a very familiar story.

1 Samuel 17:23-27   “Then as he talked with them, there was the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, coming up from the armies of the Philistines; and he spoke according to the same words. So David heard them.  And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him and were dreadfully afraid.  So the men of Israel said, “Have you seen this man who has come up? Surely he has come up to defy Israel; and it shall be that the man who kills him the king will enrich with great riches, will give him his daughter, and give his father’s house exemption from taxes in Israel.”   Then David spoke to the men who stood by him, saying, “What shall be done for the man who kills this Philistine and takes away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?”   And the people answered him in this manner, saying, “So shall it be done for the man who kills him.”

David looked beyond the giant and saw the reward! He looked beyond the mountain and saw the prize!     Why do we struggle with the idea of reward when the Bible is full of this concept?

Take a look at Hebrews 11:6  But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Prov. 25 declares if you bless your enemy the Lord will reward you! Jesus said in Luke 6, love your enemies and your reward will be great.

Heb: 10:35 Do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.

Revelation 22:12   “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.”

Now, look at the life and ministry of Jesus, our greatest example. Heb 12 tells us that Jesus endured the cross, despising the shame… Why? What for? It was for the JOY that was set before him!!! There is a reward, there is a prize.  We are to run with patience and endurance toward the mark, the goal line, for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus!

Now back to David, of course the prize was not his only motivation, he spoke about the glory of God, the honor of God’s name and people as well. The Word tells us he acted in faith, totally trusting God.  But he also had his eyes on a princess, an income and a tax-free lifestyle! Wouldn’t those promises catch your attention? Certainly worked for David!

Now, what giant are you facing? What impossible situation is overwhelming you?  What enemy is saying, “I dare you, just try to get past me!” Well, you and I know you will need a miracle! You will need a God moment. You will need a breakthrough! You need the supernatural! But allow yourself to see the prize beyond the victory. Now, imagine…What will your life look like when you are healed?  How will you sleep when you are totally debt-free? What will your energy level be when you drop those extra pounds? What will it be like to live without that addiction?  Dream a little, in fact, dream a lot! Let a dream of reward provide discipline, focus, energy and determination. You can go a lot further with a sure goal, a destination in mind.  The destination determines the level of frustration you can handle on your way to the celebration! David learned how to get ahead in life, when he took Goliath’s!  Now,  go after your giant in the Name of the Lord and enjoy the victory that overcomes the world, even your faith! And, oh yes, be sure to keep on LIVING THE WORD!

In Matthew 10:22 Jesus says, “He who endures to the end will be saved.”

The Bible has so much to say about this subject. It is a required piece of equipment for the Christian soldier. An absolute must for a spiritual warrior. Perseverance.  Patience.  Endurance.  Steadfastness.

Sometimes the difference between winning and losing, success and failure is just holding on a little longer.

Two frogs fell into a deep cream bowl.
One was an optimistic soul.
But the other took the gloomy view.
"We'll drown," he lamented without much ado.
and with a last despairing cry,
he flung up his legs and said "Goodbye."
Quote the other frog with a steadfast grin,
"I can't get out but I won't give in,
I'll just swim around till my strength is spent,
then I'll die the more content."
Bravely he swam to work his scheme,
and his struggles began to churn the cream.
The more he swam, his legs a flutter,
the more the cream turned into butter.
On top of the butter at last he stopped,
and out of the bowl he happily  hopped.
What is the moral? It's easily found...
If you can't hop out, keep swimming around!

William Carey was one the 18th century’s most powerful men of God and is recognized as the father of modern missions. He was once asked the secret of his success and he responded,  “If you only give me credit for being a plodder, you will describe me justly. Anything beyond that will be too much.  I can plod. I can persevere in any definite pursuit. To that I owe everything.”

Do you have enough faith in God to keep plodding, keep praying, keep sowing?

Have you seen enough of God’s faithfulness to encourage your heart to continue believing?

The Bible says weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning.

Will you believe with me today, that the SON is about to rise? Just hold on, steadfast, enduring, persevering.

I've Dreamed Many Dreams That Never Came True
I've Seen Them Vanish At Dawn
But I've Realized Enough Of My Dreams
Thank God, To Make Me Want To Dream On
I've Prayed Many Prayers When No Answer Came
Though I Waited Patient And Long
But Answers Have Come To Enough Of My Prayers
To Make Me Keep Praying On
I've Trusted Many A friend That Failed
And Left Me To Weep Alone
But I've Found Enough Of My Friends True Blue
To Make Me Keep Trusting On
I've Sown Many Seeds That Fell By The Way
For The Birds To Feed Upon
But I've Held Enough Golden Sheaves In My Hands
To Make Me Keep Sowing On
I've Drained The Cup Of Disappointment And Pain
And Gone Many Ways Without Song
But I've Sipped Enough Nectar From The Roses Of Life
To Make Me Want To Live On

I know that’s your story, too. Hebrews 10:35-36 Do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:
Let me share with you those same verses from the Amplified Bible…Hebrews 10:35-36
Do not fling away your fearless confidence, for it carries a great and glorious compensation of reward. For you have need of steadfast patience and endurance, so that you may perform and fully accomplish the will of God, and thus receive and [a]carry away [and enjoy to the full] what is promised.

So you can’t possibly, you wouldn’t, no way you are not going to give up… Not this close to your miracle! We are going to see the promise of our confession, I am Greatly blessed, Highly Favored and Deeply Loved and we will keep on learning, loving and LIVING THE WORD!

 Seven Symptoms of Lukewarmness

Lack of Fruit of the Spirit (Character of Christ)
Lack of Passion in Prayer
Lack of Hunger for the Word
Lack of Desire for Christian Fellowship
Lack of Gratitude for Blessings
Lack of Burden for the Lost
 And now, the GREATEST INDICATOR!!!....
... lack of concern over any of the above!!
The lukewarm are extremely judgemental and critical of others, harshly condemning and finding fault with the splinter in other's eyes while ignoring the beam in their own.
The lukewarm have superior, proud attitudes, religious, better-than-thou-shouldest- ever-hopeth-to-be-eth attitudes.  Think "pharisee" when you think lukewarm.
Is there hope for the lukewarm?
Oh, let the angel choirs join heaven's hosts to shout out YES and AMEN!!!!!
Look at the rest of Rev. 3 The Lord is knocking on the door of the lukewarm, He is asking for an invitation to come in and warm your heart once more with the fire of His Holy Presence.
His Fire will ignite you with passion and purpose and dreams and energy! The old Bible word for it is ZEAL!!
John the Baptist said, He's coming, and he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire!
Remember how weak and timid the disciples were before they were filled with the Spirit on the Day of Pentecost? The Spirit of BOLDNESS! Ask and you will receive. Seek and you will find!
Jesus said, If you being evil will give good things to your children when they ask, how much more will the Heavenly father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask.

Lukewarmness  must be replaced by a fiery, red-hot, boiling-over fervency to know God and make him known!
Passion Quotes....
D.L. Moody (inspired by Henry Varley)   "The world has yet to see what God can do with and for and through and in and by the man who is fully and wholly consecrated to Him. I will try my utmost to be that man." -John Wesley   "Give me one hundred men who fear nothing but sin and desire nothing but God, and I care not a straw whether they be clergymen or laymen; such alone will shake the gates of hell and set up the kingdom of heaven on earth. God does nothing but in answer to prayer."   Your powerful defense against the threat of lukewarmness us to keep on learning, looking into, leaning on, listening, loving and Living the Word!

Welcome to Living the Word

You are aware, aren’t you, that you are carrying gifts, talents and abilities?  And that you have a responsibility  to be using them? Here’s what the Word says.  Romans 12:4-6 NKJV As we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.  Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them.

Today we are talking about operating in our God-given gifts. Let’s take a look under the hood of that gift. Let’s see what kind of engine is driving this gift or ability.  I am going to share with you some diagnostic tools to analyze the gift. So, let’s unwrap it and have a good, honest look.

Seven critical questions to consider regarding your gift.

1)      Has anybody outside your family recognized your gift? Your mother may believe you have the voice of an angel, but you need to ask the choir director, too.

2)      Is there a market for your gift?  Being the world’s fastest telegraph operator may be fun for you, but there really isn’t a lot of opportunity in that anymore. But, let’s not just think about a financial market.  Ask yourself important questions such as… does this gift meet a need, lift a burden, solve a problem, or bring beauty to the world.

3)      Are you willing to develop the gift through training, coaching and mentoring?  If you have difficulty taking direction, correction or teaching, you are not yet ready to grow in that gift and that inability to learn may be an indicator that it is actually not your gift. You may have heard that Tiger Woods is a champion, but are you aware that he still practices his craft for hours daily, gets advice and makes correction. That’s how giftings grow. That’s how talent multiplies upon itself with compounding interest.  Are you willing to make that kind of investment?

4)      Would you pursue the gift if you had unlimited resources?   Money really clarifies things.  Even imagining money can bring real clarity. What would you do, if you didn’t have to do everything you have to do now?  Would that gift in question still have a pull on your heart, imagination and energies?

5)      Is it a joyful thing to operate in the gift?   Working in your area of gifting is fulfilling and energizing.  Performing outside of your gifting is frustrating and draining.  This one question can tell the whole tale. I’m not suggesting your gift means you will not have to work and work hard, but it’s the kind of work that you smile about, with satisfaction, not the type of work you tend to gripe about with drudgery and complaint.

6)      Do you truly enjoy the accomplishment of others who operate in a high level in that gift?  If your initial response is jealousy or unhealthy competition and you feel threatened instead of shared delight, that is a major warning signal.

7)      Can you use this gift to honor and glorify God?   There is no more important question than this one. Does it bring honor to the Name of Christ?  Is God glorified by this gift? Can I lay this at His Feet and say, “This is for You, Lord.”

Let’s be sure about our gifts. Let’s use them.  And let’s give the last word to the Word.

1 Peter 4:10-11 NKJV   As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.   If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.  Pick up your gift , bless the world, and keep on LIVING THE WORD!
