Hello and Welcome to our site!

My name is Jane and I teach the Kripalu style of yoga.

We are all familiar with the saying, "Home is where the heart is." When yoga is practiced as the Yoga Masters intended, we experience a relaxed, warm, peaceful feeling that takes us into our heart and makes us feel at "home."

Yoga is also a complete form of self-improvement, since it deals with every aspect of life, i.e., physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. As such, it can, if you choose, become a "way of life."

Most people think of yoga as just physical exercise, but when practiced correctly, you can derive all the following benefits:

  • Increase Spiritual Awareness and Intuition
  • Relieve stress and build energy
  • Lose weight, tone muscles and glands
  • Diminish aches and pains by purifying the body
  • Reverse depression and create joy
  • Prolong a youthful, strong, flexible body and mind
  • Release blocked energy, bringing a sense of peace and well being
  • Oxygenate the body, improve lung capacity, heart performance and much, much more

Yoga should always be an enjoyable experience. If you feel pushed, in pain, or that you have to achieve something, then it is no longer yoga. When done correctly, you will feel an inner peace accompanied by a deep sense of relaxation and contentment. You will find that the more you practice, the better you will feel.

Location

Jane is Teaching at the Parks and Recreation Center, 395 S. Main Street, Room 204 in Camp Verde, AZ. 86322. The Center is located on the East side of the street behind the pagoda and green grass. Our building is the one on the right as you face the pagoda and you can park in the Town parking lot to the right of our building. On rare occasions, the parking lot is full, in which case there are many open spaces on the other side of the street OR if you turn up Hollamon, on the left side of the buildings, there's additional parking on the left.

Schedule

Starting  in October,  there will be 3 yoga classes held there. Hatha Yoga from 10-11:15 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays and a Relaxation Class following the Tuesday yoga class from 11:30 am - 12:10 pm.

Kripalu Hatha Yoga Class description

Classes are small and intimate with a friendly, supportive atmosphere. Our "All Levels" classes are a flow of movements with short resting periods.  We start with warm-ups, followed by standing postures, postures on the back or postures on the stomach and sitting postures although not necessarily in that order. Several variations of the postures are given so that each student can choose the level at which he or she is comfortable. We incorporate "hara breaths" and other sitting breaths followed by a led deep relaxation and finally a short meditation. Special additional teaching is included as needed and requested, such as focusing in on one posture and explaining it in more detail.Students are encouraged to progress at their own pace and ask questions whenever they are unclear about what is being taught, especially if a beginner. Because people experience a myriad of benefits from practicing yoga, it is always inspiring to hear their stories of triumph. It gives people a sense of just how far they can go in improving the quality of their health, life and overall well-being. So sometimes students share a breakthrough or recently observed benefit.

Deep Relaxation (Yoga Nidra) Class description

This is especially suitable for beginner or physically challenged individuals. We do some sitting warm-ups and breathing before lying down on our backs for simple stretches followed by a 20 minute led relaxation/visualization - the student can choose whether to take part and consciously follow the visualization or to simply allow the auditory sounds to lull them into a deeply relaxed state.
