*Alert:  COVID-19 School Year Closure Update

April 7,  2020

 Dear Honey Tree Families,

Our California governor announced on April 2 that all California schools need to remain closed for the remainder of the school year.  Therefore, Honey Tree will remain physically closed through our last day of school, Thursday, June 4, 2020. We have notified you of this through our Honey Tree website, Remind app, and now this email.  This is not an easy communication and we are sad and disappointed to announce this but it is necessary in this unprecedented health situation.

It is heartbreaking for us to realize that all in-person activities for the rest of the school year are cancelled.  This includes our end-of-year singing programs. We miss the students and families tremendously. We hope it will be possible to reunite teachers, children and families at a gathering at Honey Tree at some point in the summer. At this time, teachers will give students any materials or artwork that is still in the classrooms. We will continue to monitor and receive guidance from our state and county public health agencies before making that decision.

Every family is feeling the impact of school closures , and we want to assure that your family’s health and safety is of utmost importance in our decision making.  We understand that this COVID-19 emergency response causes a significant amount of stress and recognize the varying levels of concern. While some of you may be working from home, others are without work at all. Some of our families work in the medical field or as first responders.   You may have family members who are ill or isolated. To all of you, our deepest heartfelt prayers and gratitude go out to you.

We will keep in touch with you through email. Remind, Instagram (@htteaders and other distance learning communication. Please understand that this is new and uncharted

territory for early childhood centers, especially for programs who are guided by developmentally appropriate, hands on, play based instruction and philosophy.  Honey Tree teachers are doing their best to meet this challenge and we are proud of their efforts. Thank you for your understanding and support. We miss all of you!

Honey Tree Early Childhood Center enriches the lives and learning of young children ages two through Kindergarten.
Our goal is to nurture children's healthy growth and development by providing a high quality early childhood education program.  We encourage the whole child approach to teaching and learning in a play based, developmentally appropriate environment that is safe, nurturing, and fun.

Enrollment and Registration

We know that choosing a first school experience for your child is an important decision and we are thankful for the opportunity to provide your child with a nurturing and supportive learning experience.  We encourage you to schedule a private tour of Honey Tree.  On your tour you will have the opportunity to see our program and facilities first hand.  Initial registration for the following year takes place in spring, however limited space may be available in select classes after the initial registration period.  Please call the Honey Tree office to check class availability.
