We are currently supporting two projects. Our projects have been picked carefully after weeks of research. Please see this document for our Project Selection Process. Here is a short summary:

  • Nature of Projects: Both the projects are schools providing education to children coming from economically backward families
  • Monitoring: All our projects will be monitored through quarterly visits by Capital One alumni / employees in India. Additionally, we will also document the monitoring done by Asha for the projects they co-support

Supported Projects:

  • Sankalp: Sankalp provides education to young children from economically backward families in Gurgaon, a suburb of Delhi. Most of the students are children of migrant laborers. Sanklap motivates the families to educate their children and prepares young children so they can be assimilated into the formal education system by the third or the fourth grade. Sankalp started in a small home in 1996, and today it supports 800 children through 6 schools in Gurgaon. Asha Page for Sankalp
  • Ssrishti Learning Center: Ssrishti like Sankalp above is focused on bringing children from economically backward families into the formal education system. Through two schools based in the slums of Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, Ssrishti is providing education to more than 100 children. Their schools also provide mid day meals to the students and have recently acquired a van for transportation and some computers to train children. Asha Page for Ssrishti
