Link up with the UN days, weeks, months, years and decennia of Observance

At time you hear that it is the "the World day of this or that", right?
There's only 1 institution in the world who can declare a day as a "World day of ... " and that is the United Nations.  So there is no "World Pancake day" - that's the pancake industry trying to move themselves in the picture ... but although pancakes are great, it's not at that level we play here.

Here's a screenshot of the portal of the http://un.org/en/sections/observances/international-days/

What's the use of it?

Well, one of the good practice that came out of the Earth Summits is to have a Long term planning, a mid term and a short term planning. That what the the 2000-2015 Millennium Development Goals and the 2015-2030 17#GlobalGoals.  The second good practice was to have a "calendar of observances".
This calendar offers:
  1. bringing the important issues to humanity under our eyes
  2. pooling resources if you want to do something around the observances topic- make things cheaper and better at the same time.  You can find programs you can link-up with, logo's, texts, ... ;
  3. when you follow it - you get an update of what the top teams working on these topics have been working on the last year, what resources/toolkits they have available for you, so you don't have to waste time and resources in making logo's, or can recuperate or join in programs.
Example:
"
Today is World #CitiesDay a Festival day, a way of expressing appreciation for all who take care of our cities big and small, a day to educate us, where specialists present what they've been working on for the last year, share new insights, a day to create opportunities to meet-up in the real world with people one has been communicating/reading online, ... and closing off with a party? Anyway, enjoy #WorldCitiesDay #GlobalGoal11 Building sustainable inclusive cities and communities :)
"

So, imagine you are managing a company dealing with this, or a mayor, what better way and what better timing to organize some incentive than that day? It's not just you / the mayor, shaking yet another little "idea" out of their sleeves, no ... you link up with a UN World Day.
Or imagine you want get the TV/radio/reporter to your event. Compare these 2 phone calls:
"Hi, I'm Pascal, we're doing something around improving life in our community - can you send a reporter?". Response: you are who? And do what? And why would that interest our audience?
Now with the UN Observances:
"Hi, I'm Pascal, today is the UN World Day of ... . Do you already do something on that ? "
Response: Heck, no, really it's the world day of ... ?
You: Yes, and we're doing something around it, blabla - can you send a reporter?".
Response: Sure.

Conclusion: same event, but the second time, the reporter will come.
