The 4th annual conference of the Midwest AIS will be held on May 22-23, 2009 in Madison, South Dakota. The goal of the conference is to provide a venue for academics and practitioners in the Midwest United States who wish to be involved with the Association for Information Systems on a smaller scale than the large international conferences. MWAIS 2009 will provide an intimate environment to facilitate the sharing of ideas on pedagogy and research within a small and social setting.

The theme of the conference will be "Information Technology in Services Industries". The conference theme would be reinforced through panel discussions, and conference keynote.

The conference will be held on the campus of Dakota State University (DSU), Madison, South Dakota. Enrollment at DSU is approximately 2,500 students, including approximately 300 graduate students. The first doctoral program at DSU has been recently started since 2007 and is in the field of Information Systems. For the third consecutive year, DSU is the highest ranked public baccalaureate college in the Midwest according to U.S.News & World Report magazine’s annual analysis of "America’s Best Colleges 2009".

DSU is located in Madison, SD which is a small town of about 6,500 population. The campus is located in the vicinity of two beautiful lakes, Lake Madison and Lake Herman, and is about 50 miles northwest of Sioux Falls.
