Shoreline - opposed since 2007

Why was Steven E. Nelson one of two people asked by the School Trustees for Shoreline District testimony in 2011?  Mr. Nelson has a well documented history of vocal public opposition to Redevelopment tax diversions that hurt our local schools.  Since 2007, his individual studies of the city budget and the county tax tables convinced him - SCHOOLS WERE GETTING SHORT CHANGED BY $ MILLIONS.  So he has been a public advocate since that time, at City Council meetings, at MVWSD meetings, at High School Board meetings, and in the press (MV Voice letters and Guest Opinions) for Sunset on Shoreline. (phase it out)
Many important civic issues need a 'whistle blower' before they need an 'organizer'.  Mr. Nelson has honed his place in Open & Public civic debate since his first environment vs. development project in 1971.  Four decades later -  the story of his research contribution to S.A.V.E. ends with "The Verdugos will forever be wilderness for us to enjoy".
