I am Mustafizur Rahman, currently working as a Consultant of Business Analytics and Optimization Service Line at IBM Australia. Previously, I worked as an Endeavour Research Fellow at Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC), Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore awarded by Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) of Australian Government.

I have completed my PhD in August 2010 under supervision of
Professor Rajkumar Buyya at the Cloud Computing and Distributed Systems Laboratory (CLOUDS Lab) of Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering, The University of Melbourne. I completed Graduate Certificate in Research Commercialization in 2009 from Melbourne Business School and B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering in 2004 from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET)

My research interests include scientific and business workflow management, scheduling in Grids and P2P systems, Cloud computing and autonomic systems. My PhD research focused on developing mechanisms for scheduling and optimization of scientific workflow applications as well as autonomic management of Grid workflow systems in global Grids.. The title of my thesis is Autonomic Workflow Management System for Grid Computing. As part of my PhD studies, I have contributed to the Gridbus Workflow Engine that facilitates users to execute scientific workflow applications on Grids.
